As soon as the Singh couple left, Kaira went into her CID mode to find why the couple left the place suddenly and she was thinking hard to get a link.
“Randhir, did you see the eyes of Sanyukta? It was welled up with tears and the uneasiness in her husband's eyes. I'm sure he doesn't want baby just like you. He too needs to enjoy than take up the responsibilities”, slowly shifting focus from the Singh's to her own husband
“Why are you blaming me? We are looking forward to our kid”, said Randhir.
“Because I feel I forced you into this”, replied Kaira.
“Whatever and please don't interfere much into other's lives”, Randhir did not want to prolong the conversation.
“Okay Captain”, said Kaira with a salute.
At that moment, the maid came in with a tray of tea and snacks. She looked around for the guests and Kaira, with a smile, informed her that they left and she could keep the tray on the table and leave. Kaira moved her hand forward to take a cup but with a slight slap from Randhir on her hand, she withdrew instantly.
“Kaira too much of tea isn't good for the baby. Why are you careless when it comes to all serious matters?” Randhir chided her.
“Sorry, my hubby, I won’t repeat this”, Kaira said and holding her ears, made a puppy face.
Randhir melted like ice by that act and smiled at her.
After a while she tried to get up and Randhir came up to her and helped her. She patted his shoulder and telling him that baby needed a walk, she took a shawl and covered herself and the tummy.
“I'll also join”, Randhir said but she nodded negatively and moved out.
“Arghh she is testing my patience now”, said Randhir and left to his room.
At night Randhir took the packet of cigarettes and stood at the balcony and he saw his neighbour there who was was looking at the sky. He forgot the reason why he was there in the first place and stared at her.
She was engrossed in her thoughts and he in her.
Sanyukta POV
“I miss us Aarav, we know each other from childhood. We were together all the time; from school to college. The day you proposed me was so special. Everything from our first kiss under the open sky, our romantic dates to the fights, your efforts to convince me and the surprise gifts were so special. The way you asked for my hand from my parents, our wedding, honeymoon- all are imprinted in my heart forever. Where did we lose that love? Where did we go wrong? You started to go away from me because I did something which you didn't like or is it that now you don't like me. I trust you but I don’t know how to make my heart understand.”
“Now you don't have time for me. You are always busy with work. I know you are doing this for our future but I'm a human, I have desires too and I too crave for your love. What's my fault? Can't we sort it out? You are running away from me and ignoring our bond. Tell me so that we can find a solution and be back together.
She rubbed her hand on her flattened stomach, “I want the symbol of our love and you want time. How much more do I need to wait?”
Her thoughts were disturbed by the phone ringing and she went to her room.
She is unaware that on the next door balcony Randhir's eyes too followed her and he saw the lights switched on and then after a second it went off. He sighed and then he too went inside. While moving to bed he found the cigarette packet in his fist and he was surprised by the effect his neighbour's wife had on him in a day.
Sanyukta got a call from Aarav saying that he would be late and she need not wait for him and she lied on her bed thinking, “You aren't with me today also” and closed her eyes.
