Chapter 16:

Mysterious Ryder

The next day I woke up and stretched out my whole body. I checked the alarm clock.

10:40

I could've slept longer.

I noticed that no one was lying beside me but I honestly didn't care, Vincent was acting like a brother while I needed him most and I should be happy about that, right? Right?

Hmm, nope, I feel nothing.

No happiness whatsoever.

I sat up and looked at my surroundings. I wasn't in my room back at my penthouse and then memories of last night flashed back to me. Oh right, my mate hates me because he thinks I hypnotized all those hybrids, unfortunately for him I didn't.

Then I remembered my brother carry me to this guest room and I sighed. Why does he even care about me? He wasn't even a part of my life half the time so why now? Why is he trying to be the brother I've longed to want at a time like this?

But it doesn't matter. I don't care anymore. I simply don't give a flying fuck about anyone anymore.

I got out of bed without the care to remake the sheets and comforter. I walked out of the room and walked down the stairs and headed for the kitchen.

Once I entered it I saw five people, slayers to be specific, sitting at a table eating their breakfast. I spotted Katie and se flashed me a cheeky grin.

"Lexi! It's so good to see you again!" She exclaimed and shot up from her chair and wrapped her arms around me. If I had any emotions I would do the the same but since I'm totally hallow in there, I didn't do it.

"Hm," I responded and she stared at me confused. She pulled away but kept her hands on my shoulders, baring her eyes in mine.

"Are you okay? You don't seem as alive and energetic as you usually are." She frowned and her eyebrows narrowed.

"That's because she isn't." My brother replied and I eyed him. He was glaring at me with a worried expression plastered on his face. "She flipped it last night."

Katie gasped at the sudden news.

"I knew you were upset but I never thought... Archer what did you do to her?"

I looked at Archer who was eating his toast and stopped as soon as Katie asked him the question.

"I did nothing, she's the one to blame especially after what she did." He calmly responded still angry as ever and continued eating.

"Lexi? What did you do?" She gasped dramatically and I rolled my eyes.

"Nothing."

"We'll you must have done something." She continued and I growled.

"She hypnotized a pack of hybrids to attack a family of vampires." Archer grunted out in a very bad mood.

I can't believe I loved him. I'm so happy I flipped the switch now I can't feel anything towards this hopeless man. He means nothing now, absolutely nothing.

"Lexi!" Katie yelled and backed away from me angry.

"He's lying." I stated and her head switched from me to Archer, to me and back to Archer for a minutes or two.

"Oh God! This is so confusing!" She exclaimed and let out a frustrated growl. Vincent put a reassuring hand on her shoulder and eyes me curiously. What I saw in his eyes was something different, something I've never seen before. I didn't recognize the emotion that was hiding behind those eyes of his and I honestly didn't care.
