"Hey John this bird called Yoko is gonna come and see you for some manuscripts."
"Yeh she's here at the moment thanks for warning me Paul."
"Well I didn't think she'd get there so fast- where's George?" I asked, leaning against my hall table where the red phone allowed us to step no further than 30 centimetres apart.
"He's in the studio today, he said he was gonna pop by and compose for a bit. Good ol' Frank Sinatra he is."
"So he wants to make part of the album- let's sneak over to the studio later and see what he's up to."
"I'll pick you up in about an hour." John said, almost laughing.
"See y' " I said, putting the phone down and walking up the creaky wooden stairs where I sat down by the piano and started improvising with chords. I was still playing piano when the door knocked. I rolled my eyes again- how many more people were going to come to my door to- then the door opened and shut.
"Paul?" I heard Jane's voice protrude.
"Hey Jane!" I began, sliding my fingers off the piano and running down the steps to meet her.
"Hi Paul." She said, wrapping her arms around my shoulders, I smiled at her,
"What have you been up to?" She asked me,
"Just... playing the piano, strumming with the boys." I replied,
"How long have you been up there.. y'know, playing piano?"
"God knows.. about half an hour? Time goes so fast when you play an instrument."
She smiled at me, "I love how dedicated you are." She said, I concentrated on her royal blue eyes, contrasting with her blonde hair and fringe. We hadn't quite reached the 'I love you' stage yet, although I felt as though soon I would just give in and tell her.
"So.. tea?" I offered, taking my hands off her arms and kissing her forehead, walking into the kitchen.
"No thanks- Dolores and Charles treated me well in their home." She responded,
"Better than me?" I flirted, placing a hand on her long silky blonde hair.
"Oh no one is better than you, Paul." She responded, closing her eyes and locking her luscious lips against mine. After the initial shock wore away I began to enjoy it, putting another gentle hand on her slim waist and stroking her cotton dress with my thumb, until I heard a knocking on the window, I opened my eyes and noticed John looking through the window beside the door with a giant smile on his cheeky little face. He gave me a wink, stepping away from the window as I pulled my face away from Jane's.
"Is that John?" She giggled,
"Yeah.." I sighed, rolling my eyes, "I've gotta go to the studio with him- I'll be back in a couple hours- you can come with me if you want." I offered, secretly hoping she'd say no.
"Oh no I've got a book to read, just you be back before dark." She said,
I smiled at her, "I will." I replied, touching her fragile white cheeks and kissing her once more on her rouge lips.
I opened the red oak door, closing it behind me and catching John's eye. He hooted at me, I laughed, shaking my head and jumping into his car beside him. It was a beautiful sunny day, the bright blue sky was cloudless and the world just seemed so amazing.
"Sorry for disturbing you." John intruded into my thoughts,
"Ha- it's alright." I laughed, looking out the window.
"Where you speaking to Yoko?" John asked me,
"Very briefly- why, were you?" I asked,
"Indeed. She's a very interesting woman."
"How so?" I asked, surprised by his interest in this foreign lady.
"Yoko Ono- Japanese, obviously, born in '33."
"..and..?" Before it struck me, "wait you don't like her?"
"God no! I just think she's a very unique lady- anyway this is us here."
John and I jumped out of the car to see that Ringo was obviously here too.
We quietly opened the door of the studio where we saw Ringo hiding behind a wall.
He covered his mouth with a finger,  silencing us, then pointed in through the door to the studio where all of a sudden there was a strum of the guitar. John, Ringo and I sat at the other side of the wall staying silent and listening to George's piece on the guitar. He was playing the acoustic- quite a complicated but beautiful piece was chiming from the strings.
I looked at John and whispered in his ear, "that's beautiful!"
"Psst Ringo how long's he been doing this piece for?"
"This is the first time I've heard this one, he was playing another stunner a couple minutes ago."
"Wow how long 's he been holding this back for?"
Suddenly we heard George speak from the studio room,
"I can hear you!" He announced,
"No you can't!" John replied before we walked in.
"So Georgie- what was that lovely piece called?" I asked him,
"I've got no idea Paulie- I just wrote an acoustic part. Haven't thought of the lyrics."
"What about, 'Here comes the sun!'" Ringo suggested.
"Nah sounds like a nursery rhyme." George remarked,
"I like it." John said, "sort of pathetic fallacy don't you think?"
"Oh you with all your poetic terms John." I sighed, listening to George improvising on his guitar. I then looked to Ringo; he couldn't stop smiling it seemed, the peach lips under his nose were bent into a grin.
"What's up with you Richard?" I asked him, everyone looked at him.
"Well the reason I'm actually here is because I was on my way back from the doctors surgery with Maureen." He began,
"Is she alright?" John asked, sitting on a backwards seat with his legs apart as he listened intently to Ringo.
"Yeh, she's great! She's pregnant!" He laughed.
"Oh Ringo congratulations!" We said, patting his shoulder, putting us all in a good mood. "Zac'll be happy to play with someone." I said,
"Yeah- gonna have to show another one how to play the drums!"
"Couldn't get a better teacher." John laughed, making me sigh with happiness. Could this day get any better?
