Chapter 43: New Changes

Dan ran at lightning top speed, he felt the wind blow through his hair as he passed trees that were in his way. He was following Phil's scent and Dan discovered that they were keeping him hostage in the woods outside of London. He jumped over a log and crouched down when he landed, Dan put both hands and on the ground, he looked up and showed his completely shifted face.

Dan continued to run until the scent brought him to a huge barn in the middle of the woods. He ran up to it and looked in the window , in a way that no one could see him. Dan couldn't believe it, Phil was alive but he was in a cage, holding on to the bars and shaking harshly. Three wolves, two boys, and a girl surrounded him, looking at him.

"I knew he was cute, we should have picked him instead of his loser friend." she giggled, growling playfully at him which made Phil gulp.

"Sadly, we need him as bait for now, but we could use him later."

The three looked over and saw Mr.Redwood walking up to them, Dan couldn't believe his eyes, that was him in the flesh. James stopped for a moment and sniffed the air, he smiled.

"Daniel, I'm so glad you could make it, come in and join us shall you."

The three beta's looked at each other as Dan opened up the door and walked inside without consent. He felt as if he was being controlled, but he had to break it before he did something he'd regret.

"Ahh, I'm glad to have finally met you young one."

Dan growled a bit as he looked over at Phil, "Let him go, James, he has no part in this."

Mr.Redwood laughed making the other beta's laugh as well.

"No wonder you were an entertainer, you're pretty funny."

Dan brought his claws out and walked closer to his alpha, he was pissed off and was done with all of this. The two twins came up and blocked Dan's path, he pushed them aside and before he could run up and beat the shit out of his alpha, Phil began to gasp for air, he fell to his knees and grabbed the bars.

Dan ran up and grabbed James by the neck, "What did you do to him?"

Mr.Redwood began to laugh as his other beta's tried to pull Dan away, but Dan grabbed one of the twins arm and swung his body, hitting them. They fell to the ground and growled loudly. Dan put the twin down and began to fight the other beta's, he flipped over the girl and grabbed the twins heads, pulling them together hard, causing them to fall, feeling dizzy. The girl ran up to Dan, but he was too quick, he grabbed the woman by the neck and slammed her body against the wall.

That's when he heard clapping, he put the girl down and looked behind to see Mr.Redwood.

"Great job young beta, you are truly worthy of giving me the born wolf I could never create."

Dan, at top speed, ran up and grabbed James by the throat yet again, making the alpha laugh.

"You can't stop me, I'll be here controlling you for ever and ever and-"

Before he could finish, Dan took his claws and ripped out the man's throat, causing blood to splatter. He dropped Mr.Redwood to the floor and looked behind to see the beta's cowering in fear, Dan's eyes had turned a blood red.

He ran over to Phil's cage and tore the door off its hinges. Dan picked him up and discovered that Phil's heart beat was starting to slow. He ran out of the barn, carrying Phil wedding style, Dan had to get him the hospital before it was too late.

Dan was in the waiting room, twiddling his fingers in worry, he had been sitting there for about an hour now. Dan looked over at the double doors and saw Jacksepticeye run in, he walked over to Dan with his hands in his pockets.

"I finally found you, I was worried when your apartment door was wide open and no one was home,"

Jack sat next to Dan and looked over at him,"What happened?"

Dan looked over and showed off his red eyes, Jack was shocked.

"Dan, you're an.....alpha?"

He looked down and nodded slowly.

"Mr.Howell?"

Dan looked up and saw a small nurse with a clipboard in her hand walk up to him, he stood up.

"Phil, is he going to be ok?"

The nurse looked down and shook her head, "I'm sorry, we've tried everything but he isn't going to make it."

Dan became wide eyed as he stepped back a bit, he felt like someone took a gun and shot him in the head.

"I'm Dan's friend, can we go see him one last time?" Jack asked grabbing Dan's arm.

She nodded as she led the two men down the hall and into Phil's room, she closed the door to give them privacy. Dan walked over and looked at his friend, he was hooked up to all kinds of wires and a breathing machine, his heart beat was slow. Dan sat down in a chair near Phil and grabbed his hand holding it tightly, he felt a couple of tears run down his face.

"I'm so sorry Phil, this is all my fault."

Jack walked up behind him and grabbed his shoulder, "You know there is a way to save him."

Dan looked up and knew exactly what he was talking about, "No, no I can't do that to him if it must be done than you do it."

"If you want to keep your best friend then that's all you can do and besides he needs to be your beta not mine."

Dan gulped as he looked down at Phil whose skin began to pale even more. Dan lifted up his friend's arm and looked at his carefully, he began to shake, Dan didn't want to do it, but he had to save Phil. His eyes began to glow a blood red color as he felt his fangs form.

"I'm so sorry."

Dan then bit down on Phil's arm hard, he let go and put his friend's arm down, they waited. Phil began to shake and freak out making Dan move back a bit.

Phil sat up and gasped for air, he opened his eyes, they were the color grey.
