I stood there breathing hard and staring intensivly at the two creatures in front of me, counting the number of times I inhaled and exhaled..... Breathe in, Breathe out, in, out...............
After what seemed like a decade, the silence was broken by the shrill scratching of impatient claws on the marble floor and the clicking of the tail on the tank.
"She can see us?" The fish continued its rant.
"OF COURSE I CAN!" I screamed by unable to control my rage.
It was the griffin that made the first move by slowly moving towards me, with each step a dull clacking sound shadowing each longly shaped claw.
"Child. What is your name?"
Stunned with fear and amazement as it got closer, I backed away from the majestic creature.
"Speak to me."
Backing up against the wall I felt small and insignificant compared to the story-book creature. Quickily I whispered my name almost unaudiably, but the griffin must have really good ears because it nodded its head and turned back to the fish.
"I don't think we were wrong. It's her alright."
The aquatic creature bowed its head thoughtfully and after a moment, spoke up, "I think we should bring her back with us. We might have a chance if her Majesty finds her fit for the job."
Her Majesty?!? Fit for the job?!? What are they talking about?!?
Sighing the griffin turned it's head and looked into her eyes with a set of glimmering golden eyes.
"I supposed it wouldn't hurt. We can always resort to the last option."
Last option?!?
The fish agreed and the from the water around it formed an instrument of some sort and started playing it.
The sound coming from the pipe-like-device gave off a soothing yet addicting tune. Within moments I dropped to the ground, numb of the objects around me.
The griffin walked by to the place where I first saw it and began mumbling something I couldn't understand, and after a few seconds a black hole appeared from the ground.
And before I completely blacked out the last thing I saw was the darkness slowly enveloping me....
