FELISHA STOPPED NEAR HER locker and took a deep breath. She was relieved that no one saw her coming or else they would halt her there itself. She looked at her locker which didn't contain books, notes or anything else like others but trash and chewed gums which were thrown by others. Nothing on or in that locker was appealing but she had to find it anyways. She had to find today's quote.
This was also one of her secrets that someone everyday put a quote in her locker. She didn't know the person yet, but these quotes were the reason she could survive her day. They gave her hope and strength. It was as if the person knew what she is going through and wanted to help. It also scared her sometimes. But she didn't mind it anyways. She quickly opened the locker and searched for it.
The quotes were always in the same kind of envelop but of different colours. And it always contained initials of someone's name at the end, probably the one who sends them.
"Letting go can be very hard at times but when you do let go, it creates space for better things to enter into your life." ~~X.A.X
Finally she found it and read. She smiled at it and felt glad that she had someone. Someone she doesn't know. Someone she can't see. Someone she can't talk to. But someone. Someone was there.
Felisha quickly went in her class and sat on the chair at the right end of the class near the window. She took a deep breath and waited for the pain to come. The day went on like all other days, girls telling her how she should lose fat and wear as many accessories as she can so boys find her attractive and other girls making jokes at her and showing faces. Boys looking at her and then whispering in each other's ears. And she didn't say a word and kept letting go. The day ended.
She came down to the gate before anyone could and ran faster. She didn't want to get late again. She had to go to the grocery store and take her position before the owner, Mr. Louis would yell at her. She ran and came to her apartment and changed quickly. She left the apartment and went to the grocery store. She took a halt near the door of the store and looked at her reflection on the door. What a mess?!. She thought.
Upon entering the shop she saw a bunch of guys from her class standing at the corner. What the hell are they doing here?. She came to the counter and started her work. A loud thud followed by crashing sounds was heard minutes later, when Felisha was working peacefully. A guy standing at the corner broke a new set of glasses that was bought yesterday. He looked at her in the eyes and smirked knowing what was about to happen.
Mr. Louis came out of his cabin and glared at Felisha. She stopped her work and looked down. She knew that he would shout at her and lessen her salary even more. This wasn't her fault. She cant keep an eye on the whole shop as well as do the counter job. She had told him to appoint another person for the store but who listens to her. When the shop was nearly empty and time was about to close the shop, he came to her.
"Would you like to pay for the loss? or maybe wait why don't I do what I did before, hm? This might be great, would you like to..miss felicia?" Mr. Louis was talking in a sarcastic tone. "You know earning money is not so simple as you think, how many times have I told you, dear? How should I make you realize." He was now roaming his hands in her hair. She was boiling inside, she could not bear it anymore. She needed the money to survive. "Darling, why don't you understand..hm? its not going to work this way..You know what I can do, right? I can do such things you cant imagine. Now would you pay for the loss or--".
He was cut of when he felt a sudden current run through his fingers that were roaming on Felisha's face. He screamed in pain. His hands were bleeding badly. He ran to his cabin in pain. Felisha was left in bewilderment. What was that? How did that happen?. She kept wondering while going back to her apartment. His words were hitting me so bad, I wanted to kill him right there! And that shock..How could that just happen?. Did I do it? No way. That's not possible. But then how?.
Thoughts were her best friend.
