I pull out of my driveway to see Lauren in her car, getting ready to leave.

Her head is on her steering wheel, body raking with sobs (did I say that right?).

As I drive off, my house and her car disappear into the distance as I make my way (downtown) to Lucy's house.

Fuck... it's been one hell of a day.

PRESENT

Your POV

After about an hour drive I find myself at Lucy's front door, ringing the doorbell with dried tear stains down my cheeks. She opens up looking like I just woke her up, which I probably did since it's one in the morning.

"Y/n/n?"

"Hey L" I say with a scratchy voice.

She immediately observes my appearance, great sweat pants, black slippers, and her softball hoodie. She widens her eyes and pulls me close to her body to try to comfort me.

She takes me inside and sits me on the couch, walking in the kitchen shortly after to make some tea. After she's done, she comes back in with two mugs and sets them down on the table.

"What happened babe?"

I take a deep breath and start to explain everything to her.

"Well first, I'm sorry for waking you. But um-well...Lauren s-she" I pause and clear my throat.

"She what hun?" Lucy asks.

"She cheated on me, I caught her. In our own bed" I say chuckling at the end of my sentence.

She opens her mouth to say something but closes it. She pulls me into another hug and says,

"I know this is probably a stupid question but, are you alright?"

"I'm better than I thought I'd be. I mean, we have been distant. I guess people just fall out of love. That's what happened with us. I just never thought it would end like this" I say.

She nods her head as a way of saying she understands and rubs my back for comfort.

"Do you wanna stay the night?"

"I don't wanna be any more of a burden than I already am-"

"You're not, I promise" she says cutting me off.

I look into her eyes for any signs of a lie but see none. I then nod and she takes me upstairs to her bedroom, seeing as her apartment only has one bedroom.

"I'll sleep on the couch, you can have the bed"

"That's stupid, it's your house and your bed luce, come lay with me"

She nods and walks silently over to me, getting under the covers with me and pulled me close to her. My head on her chest and our legs entangled.

I put my left arm right below her boobs while my right rests by our left hips.

"Can I ask you something y/n?" She whispers. 

"Of course"

"Why doesn't it hurt as much as it probably should?"

"Well, like I said earlier, people just fall out of love sometimes. Besides, I'm in love with someone else" I finish.

"Who, if you don't mind me asking" she says.

I stare at her in the eyes and say "you".

She smiles the widest smile ever at me and kisses my forehead.

"Once you're ready, I'm taking you on the best date you'll ever have. I won't treat you like how she treated you, I promise" she says.

"I'll hold you to that" I say and rest my head on her chest again after kissing her cheek.

"I really do love you" she says.

"I really do love you too I just Lauren doesn't get in the way of us because I know we'll work"

"Me too babe, goodnight, I love you" Lucy says.

"I love you too, goodnight" I say back.

I close my eyes and fall asleep, listening to the heartbeat of my new found lover. I just really hope Lauren doesn't try ruin us. I can't let her.

I haven't updated since like April I think but oh well. Here's a little thing that literally took me three days bc I'm lazy. I'm sorry y'all.

Thank you for being patient, I can't say I'll get another update out soon because school starts Tuesday for me and I'm not excited at all.

I literally want to cry because I hate school so much. I want remember any of this by the time I'm 30 so what's the point? As a 1st grader you can ask such deep questions and by the time you get to 12th grade you become incurious. Something happens between that time and it's horrible.

The education system is wack yo.

Anyways, I'm done ranting. Sorry.
