The next morning, Mikey found an old library for them to stay at; it looked to be abandoned some time ago. The night before was chaos and no one knew what to do now. Fortunately, no one died- well out of the Killjoys. Most however, were badly injured. Lindsey was limping a lot and her face was pale so Gerard decided to direct the now doubling size of Killjoys. They stayed at the library for about two weeks before everyone started to get anxious and ask questions Gerard had no answers for.
"Gerard? What the fuck are we doing?!" Pete snarled at him one day. He had no clue to be honest. There is no way thirty people could stay in a tiny library forever, but even if they left and found some other place to stay, what would they do? What did they do anyway?
"Listen Pete, I don't fucking know, okay. I'm trying to figure things out and you're-"
"I have an idea." Gerard spun around, startled and saw Frank standing there, stern faced. Gerard hadn't spoken to him since that night at the asylum. Even then they didn't do much talking; just smoked until their lungs ached. Though they hadn't spoken much, Gerard often caught himself staring at Frank and immediately going red when he looked over.
"I have an idea," Frank repeated. Gerard nodded, trying not to look too stunned.
"We need to do something, something a lot bigger than just breakouts and graffiti. Something such as...taking back what was once ours?" Frank spoke determined.
"Are you saying what? Start another war? That's ridiculous," Pete scoffed. Gerard silently stared at Frank curiously.
''Oh so you want to spend the rest of your life hiding in fear of being fucking brainwashed?! Because let me tell you something, being strapped to a metal table helplessly while nurses inject drugs into your veins, is not the most pleasant experience." Frank spat angrily.
"Yeah but a war?! A fucking war?! We'll all be wiped out if we attempt a rebellion!" Pete and Frank were glaring at each-other now as Gerard stood invisible on the sidelines. He didn't know what to say. He totally agreed with Frank, but starting another war seemed a bit drastic.
"Yeah maybe! But maybe not! We won't fucking know unless we try! I'm sick of running and hiding in abandoned libraries for weeks on end!" Frank was getting frustrated with this conversation and looked as if he was about to fucking deck Pete.
"Okay you go start your little rebellion and see how many people you can get to join you. No one will want to because newsflash- no one wants to fucking die!" Pete was edging closer to Frank now.
"Everybody wants to change the world but no one wants to die? How convenient," Frank scoffed and walked outside. Pete stood there dumbfounded for a minute, unsure if he won, then eventually shrugged and walked over to suck faces with Mikey. Gerard despised Pete quite a bit.
Gerard decided to follow Frank out to the dumpsters behind the library. Why a library would need dumpsters? Gerard had no clue. Frank was standing against the wall, looking out to the empty streets and furiously smoking.
"Hey uh, mind if I join?" Fuck why was he so awkward.
Frank stared at him unsure, and then handed him a cigarette. And yet again, they stood silently smoking for at least twenty minutes- though it could've been longer as Gerard's concept of time vanished awhile ago- before he spoke up.
"I agree," was all he said. Frank looked up at him and smirked. Gerard noticed the boy's lip ring gently touched the cigarette dangling from his lips; hell he didn't notice it, it was the only thing he could think about in this moment! Pretty pathetic.
"Oh?" The teasing question drew Gerard's gaze away from Frank's mouth; caught staring yet again. Fantabulous.
Why are you like this, Gerard? Was the only thing going through his mind as his whole face turned a bright shade of pink- again.
