Sarabi's POV:
I used to think I was a pretty brave girl.
Never was scared of the dark, picked up any type of animal or bug, started sleeping alone at the age 3 (or so my mom said).
That was until I met the devil himself; my stepbrother Moe.
I peeled back the blinds to check the driveway for the fifth time.
"You okay baby? You haven't come to see me in a while. And I bet you didn't hear a word I just said." My nana sighed as I took the FaceTime off mute.
Her and I had been talking all morning about how we haven't seen each other since last thanksgiving.
It's been a while since I've been back home to Puerto Rico.
I nervously ran my fingers through my hair as I focused on the phone.
"I know Nana, it's just that Moe has been working a lot lately and we're really trying to save the money to remodel the house."
All of a sudden I heard Moe's car screeching into the driveway.
"I'll have to call you back, I love you nana." I said as I quickly ducked from the window.
"Sarabi! Bring yo ass here." He growled as he slammed the front door behind him.
I slowly went down the stairs to see him standing with his arms folded.
"I thought I told you to clean up while I was gone." He said once I was in his view.
He threw his keys on the wooden table and slowly walked towards me.
"Sorry...I was just on the phone with Nana.."I said quietly as I slowly backed away from him.
