Alfie's POV
It burns me to see her run up to Jack and give him a hug. I don't want to admit to Zoe that I have feelings for her, and I don't want to ruin my friendship with Jack, but I also really don't want to keep holding my feelings in and watch her love someone else from a distance. I step out of the car and grab the picnic things from the back and walk over with the fakest smile plastered on my face.
"Hey Guys, where do you want to set all this up?" I asked gesturing to he picnic basket and blanket I had in my hands.
"Oh, How about over there in thte sunny spot on the grass." Marcus said pointing to a spot on the big field.
"That's perfect! I'll go set everything up." Zoe said giving Jack a kiss and grabbing the things from me. My heart ripped in half, and it felt like I had fallen of the face of the Earth. I muster up a smile as Zoe grabs the items from me. I watch her as she skips over and places the basket down. I look over to the guys and nod for them to follow me, and we all started walking to the picnic place.
*Everybody is sitting on the blanket and enjoying their food.*
"Wow, Zoe this is really great!." Marcus said devouring his salad.
"Thank you, but I didn't do it all. Alfie helped, so give him some credit too." She smiled and looked at me.
"Well, I say good job both of you, this was a lot better than I expected." Jack said shifting his weight so he was leaning into Zoe with his arm behind her back. I don't want to be here, I don't want to see this. I stood up.
"Well, thank you Zoe, this was really great but, I need to go now, It will be a long ride back to my place." I lied, and everyone knew it, too.
"Oh." Marcus said, worried. "You sure?"
"Yeah, uhm, I'm just not feeling too great. I'll phone you guys later. Bye." I asid, walking towards my car, searching my pockets for my keys. I turned around realizing I had left them next to my food. I saw Marcus running up to me with my keys.
"Hey, man what's wrong?" Marcus asked handing me the keys. I knew I couldn't lie to him, he's my best friend.
"Ikissedzoe." I said really quickly. His face looked confused and then shocked.
"You wha!t?" he asked in a hushed voice. "Oh my gosh, Alfie!"
"I know, I know. I just don't know what to do. I have had feelings for her for as long as I can remember. And the reason we were late was because she was having a panic attack, and I didn't know what to do because nothing was working, so I kissed her." I said way too fast, again. Marcus staring there, shocked.
"Is everything alright?" Jack asked, walking up to us.
"Oh, uhm... Yeah, I was, I was just giving Alfie his keys. He left them at the picnic." Marcus said, saving my arse. Marcus, turned around, said goodbye and walked back to Zoe, who was sitting at the picnic.
"Listen," Jack said, "I really like you Alfie, I do. We are great friends. But if you kiss Zoe, one more time... We can't be friends anymore. Sorry mate. See you later." Jack said and walked back to the picnic with Zoe. I fucking hated my life. But who gives a shit If I can't be friends with him anymore, as long as it means I can kiss Zoe again.
