Dandelions - One Shots

The very last week of school. Semester 1 is coming to an end. It was 8:55 am, I was at homeroom waiting to leave class.

"Terry Anapolis", Mrs Wanda called out, "are you here?"

No response.

"I guess not. Madeleine Barnes?"

"Here!" I replied back to Mrs Wanda as she calls out the attendance roll. After calling out every name in class she goes to check the notices on her computer.

"There are no notices so you may conti--" Mrs Wanda starts before she was cut off with a knock on the door. I stood up from my seat and opened the door as I was closer to it. I opened the door to see a teacher with a student, who I have never seen before, standing beside her.

"Good morning Madeleine. Is Mrs Wanda here?" The teacher said, smiling.

"Good morning Mrs Berry. Yeah, she's here." I replied, standing right next to the door gesturing them to come in. Mrs Berry and the new student came in the room walking towards my homeroom teacher. Both teachers started talking and me being me started eavesdropping. The room was filled with loud conversations so I wasn't able to hear their whole talk clearly. All I heard was "new....this is him....blah blah blah...he's part of your class now....blah blah blah." As I was trying to focus on their conversation, I heard my name called out.

"Madeleine, please come here." My homeroom teacher commanded. I walked towards them and Mrs Wanda gave me a sheet of paper with a timetable written on it.

"Madeleine, meet Cameron. Cameron, Madeleine."

"Hey!" I said, grinning.

"Hi." He replied with a small smile on his face.

His deep brown eyes met mine and I felt butterflies forming in my stomach.

No! Feelings go away. Not now. I don't need you just yet.

"Pardon?"

Oh crap. Did I say that out loud.

"Are you okay?" Cameron gave me a confused look.

Both teachers were confused as well.

"Oh s-sorry. I was just thinking o-of umm...something. I'm Madeleine!" I felt my face burning. That wasn't a good first impression. He thinks I'm a weirdo now.

"Yeah I got that."

There was a five second of silence between us which felt like the longest 5 seconds of my life.

"Well, that was weird," Mrs Wanda started, "Madeleine I called you out here because I want you to meet Cameron and you have. You both have first and third period together so Cameron you may follow Maddie to your classes and as for you," she pointed at me, "please stop being weird around our new students. We don't want you scaring them off. It's not very good for the school."

"Yes, I got that. I'm sorry. I'll try my best though." I said giving her a smile.

The bell went and everyone started to leave the class. I walked out of homeroom with Cameron beside me. I looked down at his timetable and started reading it.

"First period, Science and then Sport, Photography, English, and Math. Oh great! I think Mrs Wanda forgot to mention that I have second, fourth and fifth period with you as well." I rolled my eyes.

"What?" He grabbed his timetable off me and started reading it himself.

"You don't sound too happy. You'll be fine! It's not like I'm going to kill you or anything."

"No! Not now. Go away."

"Are you trying to impersonate me? Because if you are, you're really not that good at making impersonations."

He gave me a nudge as I laughed at him. We started walking to first period.

------Fast forward 3 months later------

"Maddie your turn. Truth or dare?" Cameron asked, laughing.

Both choices don't seem too nice to pick but I want to play it safe.

"Truth." I said, rubbing both of my hands together.

Cameron started thinking of a question to ask me.

"Okay, I got one and you better answer it, alright?"

"Shoot."

"It was the very first time we met. I was new to the school and all. I didn't know anyone until I met you. You said some things and you were acting all weird and then you said,
'No! Feelings go away. Not now. Blah blah...'
What was that supposed to mean?"

"Umm," my mind came to a blank,"I-I uh, I said t-that because I-I."

"Come on, Maddie! Please tell me." He pouts his lips, giving me a puppy face.

"Fine." I gave in. "When I saw you, I thought you were cute and then I felt butterflies around my stomach. I don't know it was just a stupid crush. It was like love at first sight but not like that. More like crush at first sight. It was stupid. Don't worry about--" I felt his lips connect to mine. I kissed back, smiling into the kiss.

"It wasn't stupid." He whispered to me, making me blush. We kissed again, putting my arms around his neck. I hugged him right after the kiss.

Cameron was a new student. We met and instantly connected, becoming best friends.

I never thought he would feel the same way as I did.

Finally updated a new chapter! I hope you all enjoyed that. Sorry if it's not good. Still trying to improve my writing skills so bear with me.

I am so sorry for not updating the book for a while. I have been so busy with school that I don't get enough free time to write stories. I'm trying my best to stay active and update the book as soon as possible.
