-Vassek orbit-
<Yes my Lord?> Grievous asked as Dooku contacted him. [General, the ongoing stalemate in the war, has become unacceptable.] Dooku said, clearly displeased, [There is concern you've lost your focus.] He paused briefly before continuing, Grievous narrowed his eyes. [Lord Sidious demands more dramatic results...more dead Jedi.] Dooku finished, Grievous wasn't happy that his role as General was being questioned. <You expect victory over Jedi.> he snapped, <But all you give me to fight them is battle droids!> Grievous then snarled before slamming his fist onto the end transmission button, as he entered the planet's atmosphere.
-Inside Grievous's lair-
Rath, Nahdar, Kit Fisto, and their squad of Clones were in what looked like a trophy room, a trophy room for Jedi. "These must be trophies, taken from the Jedi he's murdered!" Nahdar seethed, "There are so many..." Kit and Rath were looking at the many lightsabers Grievous had, Rath wasn't convinced that this was a trap, more like a test for Grievous. "Why would Dooku want to set a trap for his best General?" Kit wondered, " It doesn't make sense." Rath looked around and saw what looked like a deactivated Magnaguard, he'd mess with it later. "Are we the bait, or is Grievous the bait?" Nahdar speculated, "I don't think that this is a trap..." Rath said, "It may be a test for Grievous...and we're the test." "A test for what?" Kit asked, Rath was silent for a moment. "To reassess his effectiveness, and his ability to lead the droid army." he concluded, suddenly Kit's wrist comm beeped, he answered it. [General, your droid's spotted a ship entering the atmosphere.] Niner said, "It matches the same description as General Grievous's fighter, it's headed our way!" back with the squad inside the lair Kit told the two Clones to hide. "Keep out of sight." he ordered, "And stand by for further orders." Nahdar turned to his master and Rath. "Capturing Grievous could turn the tide of the war!" he exclaimed, the Clone commander then drew his pistol. "And if he doesn't know we're here..." he started drawing his pistol, "We can take him down easy." "Don't underestimate him." Rath warned, "You'll need a plan." A few minutes later Grievous's fighter entered a hidden hanger. Once it landed, a minute later he entered his home...the quiet was what tipped him off that something was amiss. <Guards?> Grievous called out, <Gor? Gor, where are you!?> suddenly Kit and two clones and their commander appeared in front of him. the Jedi master ignited his lightsaber while the clones primed their blasters. Grievous had to shield his eyes, then turned around when he heard another lightsaber activate behind him, his gaze meeting Nahdar's hateful one. "Welcome home General. I'm afraid I must request your surrender." Kit stated, pointing his lightsaber at the droid General. "Cooperate Grievous, and perhaps the Senate will be merciful." Rath was in the shadows as backup, he mentally facepalmed. (You idiots, this wasn't the plan!) Rath yelled in thought, (You've just cornered a very dangerous animal, this won't end well...) Grievous then drew two lightsabers and activated them. <It is YOU who shall get no mercy!> he sneered, swinging his sabers hitting the walls on either side of him. Grievous swung down blocking the Jedi's lightsabers, he then split his arms grabbing his other two sabers and igniting them. Grievous then spun the two sabers that weren't occupied by a Jedi's saber, causing Kit and Nahdar to move their heads to avoid decapitation. (Well this isn't good...) Rath thought, (I may have to get involved...) Grievous clashed sabers with Kit and Nahdar. Both barely able to hold the cyborg back. "Cables!" Kit ordered, the clones fired cables at Grievous's legs, now held in place, he was vulnerable. Roaring in rage, Grievous tried to cut the lines that held him. Kit and Nahdar were preventing Grievous from doing so. "Don't let him go!" One of the clones shouted, the other clone pulled hard. "We've got him!" He yelled, grunting with effort. "Don't let him cut the lines!" Kit ordered, cutting Grievous's legs off. Grievous jumped to the rafters above, and out of the corner of his eye, Rath saw a shadow move away. It looked human. Rath ran to pursue this newcomer. Meanwhile, the clones had begun to struggle to hold Grievous down. "Hold him!" One of them shouted, the clones managed to pull the General back down to ground. Grievous began to crawl away, dragging the clones with him. Nahdar attacked Grievous while he tried to slink away. Grievous blocked the attacked though, and glared at the young Jedi Knight. "Don't make me destroy you!" Nahdar growled, Grievous seemed slightly bemused, as he spun his lightsaber and threw it at Kit, who swatted it aside. The saber deactivated afterwards. Meanwhile, Rath had caught up with the mysterious visitor that Grievous had. He soon almost wished he hadn't. Standing in front of him with his back to the Kaleesh warrior, was Dirge, a well known bounty hunter who specialized in killing Jedi. "Turn around slowly, Dirge." Rath ordered, Dirge looked over his shoulder, and saw Rath. "You must be the great General Rath." He said calmly, "I've heard quite a lot about you from Grievous." Rath chuckled. "Then, you know what happens when you piss me off." He warned, "Another thing, I wouldn't trust everything that coward says. I'm not as weak as you may have heard." Dirge chuckled. "We shall see." He replied, as he got into a fighting stance. Rath put a hand on one of his lightsabers, then moved it away from the weapon. "No." He said, "I won't need a lightsaber to kill you, Huk."
Rath lives! After almost a fragging year, my second story rises from the dead! I apologize for the delay, writer's block is a bitch. As always though, comment, rate, and leave advise so I can improve. Next time, Rath takes on Dirge, and Kit and the others are attacked by Gor!
(I figured this song fit with what I felt coming back to this story.)
