I awoke to a lap tapping on my door, I don't remember falling asleep but my eyes opened slowly, regardless of my confusion, the sun was on it's way down when I looked out the window and I knew from my little nap that I wouldn't be getting much sleep tonight.

Rocky poked his head around the door with apologetic eyes.

"Morning," he smiled weakly.

"Don't you mean, good afternoon?" I  groaned, stretching my sore bones.

He glanced at the window and chuckled lightly.

"Yeah, I guess."

There was a long pause.

"Listen Rain," Rocky began. I shook my head.

"It's fine, I overreacted, I'll admit that much." I chuckled darkly. "I appreciate it, I really do, I was dumb for thinking I got out of that life so easily."

Rocky nodded slowly, unsure of what to say.

"Does anybody in this house smoke?" I questioned, walking to Rydel's jeans that were laying on the floor. I lazily pulled them over my bruised legs.

"Yeah, I'll go find you one." Rocky dismissed himself as I continued getting dressed. I dragged my heavy body towards the bathroom to look at my reflection. I was a tangled mess, and I hated it. My eyes had heavy, purple bags sagging under them. My lip busted in two different places, and I didn't even want to attempt to run my fingers through my hair.

'You need some T.L.C my dear," I whispered to my reflection. I opened the mirror to find a hairbrush and anything else to make me look less corpse-like.

I fought with the knots in my hair until they were all out and splashed some water on my face, my reflection looked somewhat better as I swished some mouthwash in my mouth, humming a song.

"Better," I chirped. "Kind of."

I was nervous as I walked downstairs, they were all seated in the living room. Riker's chair was facing my direction and the rest of them had their backs to me. There was a gory movie playing.

"Come watch," Rydel urged, Rocky met me halfway down the stairs with a cigarette and lighter in his hand.

"I'm going out for a smoke," I called, walking toward the back door, very aware of Riker's eyes on mine.

"Ross, you have a smoking partner now," Ratliff laughed, Ross jumped up and his eyes went straight to Rocky handing me a smoke, which was probably from his pack.

"Could've grabbed me one when you stole one for her," Ross scoffed, rushing to his room and retrieving his pack.

When we went outside the warm, sticky air made it hard to breathe, I took a long pull of my cigarette as I lit Ross's.

"So, you and Rocky," Ross pressed, releasing smoke from his nostrils.

"Yeah?" I replied, blowing my smoke out of my mouth.

"You like him?" Ross asked, not making eye contact with me.

"I don't see how any of this is your business," I snapped.

He opened his mouth to say something but closed it quickly, we smoked in silence for a few minutes.

"You're too young to be smoking," Ross said after a little while.

I took a pull of my cigarette and looked at it, then at him.

"I'm nineteen, you're not that much older than me," I pointed out.

"Yeah, I guess I was trying to be helpful or some shit," he chuckled and spat on the ground.

I laughed at his attempt to be like Riker.

"Rain,'' he began.

I turned my head to him and his lips were on mine. His lips were rough and urgent against mine. I resisted at first but began moving my lips with his.

"Wait," I whispered pushing him off.

"What are we doing?" I asked when I pushed him off.

"Fuck," he breathed out, he flicked his smoke and stormed back inside. I put my fingers to my lips. I shook my head and lot another cigarette, to calm my nerves.

"Rain," a voice behind me startled me.

"Uh, we're going out to eat now, would you like to come?" Ryland asked. As much as I didn't want to, my stomach growling wavered my answer.

"Sure." He nodded awkwardly as I followed behind him. Rocky and Ross were bickering in the living room. Riker shot me a glance then looked back at the boys.

"They always bicker," Rydel smiled, easing some of the guilt in my conscious, the doorbell rang as I was about to interject.

"Somebody get that!" Riker barked, I rolled my eyes.

"I'll get it," I scoffed, jogging to the door, I ignored Riker flipping me off as I swung the door open.

"Hello sweetheart."
