I enter the gym to see a group of girls sitting together in a circle. They stop in the middle of their conversation as a girl with short hair notices me and beckons me to join them. The whole group watches as I awkwardly make my way to the middle of the gym where they sat. As I get closer I recognize the girl I'd met earlier and I instantly feel relieved after seeing a familiar face. I rush over to sit next to her. "I didn't know you liked volleyball!" Misa turns to me as I'm sitting.

"I didn't know you like volleyball either! I'm glad we can be on a team together!" I grin at her.

"Okay well I think that's all of us! I'll go over attendance to make sure." the captain, Michimiya, begins to go over the names on the clipboard she's holding.

All of us? But that's such a small group..
I look around the circle at the small number of girls.
Is this even enough to make a team?

I listen, waiting for my name to be called but I'm confused when I don't hear it.

"That's everyone on the list."

"U-um..my name wasn't called." I awkwardly pipe up.

"Huh? What's your name?" Michimiya asks.

"(L/n)(F/n)."

The girl reads through the list again, furrowing her eyebrows.
"It doesn't say your name on here. Go to the faculty office and check with them. Maybe it just hasn't fully processed," she smiles reassuringly.

I nod and make my way out the door. After walking for a little, I jump when I hear loud yelling and turn to see two boys in the red first day uniforms, similar to mine, but the male version, bowing towards the other gym's entrance. I recognize both of them as Kageyama and... the orange haired dude from earlier! So he does go here. Maybe he got lost on the way to school then.

They start to get in a pretty heated argument with Kageyama calling the orange head 'dumbass' and both of the boys looking like they want to punch the other out.

Kageyama grabs on to other boy by the shirt and I begin to slightly panic, "H-hey!"
Both of the boys turn their heads to look at me. Kageyama's look of rage in his eyes makes me immediately feel small. He doesn't let go of the boy's shirt.
"If you're going to fight..d-do it elsewhere!" I try to sound as intimidating as possible under Kageyama's glare.

Awkward silence.

Sorry orange-hair-kun! You're on your own! I scurry off, leaving the poor boy to fend for himself. Every man for themselves! I'd rather that kid die by Kageyama's hand than me!

"It says that you have requested to join the volleyball team. But the reason your name won't process through the system is because the girls volleyball team is full." Takeda swivels in his chair to face me.

"But it's not full! There were only like 9 other girls there!"

Takeda tries to input my name into the system under the girls volleyball team once again, but an error message pops up on the screen showing the club is at full capacity.

"This isn't the first time an issue like this has come up. Our school has just started using a new program and it seems to have a lot of malfunctions. I would allow you to join manually but this program doesn't allow me to make changes to a full class unless I transfer another student out. I would say you could continue going to the club anyways but without being properly registered, you're not able to buy a uniform or have the permission to leave for matches and tournaments. That and the school board simply wouldn't allow it."
