Chapter 13

"Say." Rico opened the blinds to his bedroom window, shedding the morning light on Alexis.

"What?" She put a pillow over her head.

"Get up, son. You sad and all, but you can't be laying in the bed all day. I don't mind you staying here, but you gotta get out the bed." Rico snatched away the covers.

It's been three days since Alexis has been over Rico's house. She's heard from both Will and Anthony, but she's still really down about them being sent away. For the past three days, Alexis has been laying in bed and only gets up to use the bathroom. The only time she's been eating is if Rico forces her to. Rico is back to his normal schedule, working like crazy and waking up early in the morning to do it all over again. He understands that Alexis is hurting, but he can't stand to see her in the same spot everyday.

"It's cool, I gotta go home today. I'm running out of clothes anyway." She sat up and patted her head.

"You can stay... I don't want you being all depressed though, you gotta keep yo head up."

"Keep my head up? Shit been going bad for a long time and this was the icing on the cake. I been keeping my head up, but I'm tired." She scoffed.

"You wanna talk about it?" He sat next to her on the bed.

"No. Thanks though."

"You sure? We can go out and get your favorite--crab legs. Maybe hit up a store and have game night like you wanted last time, or we can watch a movie before I go to work." He was hoping she would agree to something.

"I'm straight."

"You don't wanna go get your nails done or nothing?" He pulled a few twenties from his pocket.

"I'm actually going with my parents to my brothers girlfriend house. He said he has some money over there and we're going to use it towards his lawyer."

"Well I'm coming with you."

"For real? I really appreciate it." Alexis smiled.

"Yeah. I told you, anything you need, I got you. Now get your rockhead ass out this fucking bed." He tossed a pillow at her.

"You really irk. And I need some dick before we leave, my nerves so bad." Alexis said as she went into the bathroom.

"I thought you'd never bring it up." He was relieved.

Alexis laughed and entered the bathroom. She pulled her shorts down to pee and then prepared for a hot shower. After her shower, she brushed her teeth and walked out of the bathroom wearing only an oversized tie dye shirt. She walked into the hall to see Rico tampering with the AC.

"Lets go, potna." She grabbed his butt.

"Don't do that, man. Yo last nigga might have liked that type of shit, but not me." He pushed her hand away.

"No you didn't." Alexis gasped while laughing.

"Yeah, I did." He cut the air up some.

"You funny, really funny." She leaned against the wall.

Rico grabbed the back of Alexis' neck, ready to get straight to it. She bit her bottom lip as he caressed her thigh, working his way up to her chest. They kissed for about a minute and then went into the bedroom. Alexis jumped on the bed and pulled off her shirt. Rico undid his pants while going to his dresser to grab the box of condoms. He got on the bed and stuck his hand in the box to find out it was empty.
