CHAPTER 13

CONFUSED

One month after.

"Here. Eat."

Inabot sa akin ni Luke yung lunch na binili niya mula sa school cafeteria. We were at the backstage of the theatre. It was our break time from our rehearsal for the musical. Next week na kasi ang school fest kaya malapit na din ang play. Kalat na din sa buong school na liniligawan ako ni Luke. It was quite.. crazy. Sobrang sikat kasi talaga ni Luke hindi lang sa school kung hindi sa buong bansa. I even started getting hate comments in my lockers. They said that I was only using him to forget Uno..

I would never do that. I would never use Luke. He didn't deserve that. Hindi ko naman papayagan manligaw si Luke if I didn't like him. Of course I like him. I like him a lot. He makes me so happy.

I looked at him then thanked him for our food. He smiled at me sweetly. I smiled back at him. His smile was worth all those hate comments. He really did save me from Uno. I was glad for it. I will always be eternally grateful for that.

Binuksan ko yung lunch na binili niya sa akin. He bought me a caesar chicken salad and a red tea. Sabi niya kasi na we should start eating healthy daw. I pouted but I guess that I would really benefit from that.. it's for my health kahit na hindi naman niya alam yung tungkol sa sakit ko.

Isang buwan na din na nanliligaw sa akin si Luke. He was consistent. He was really sweet. He was treating me like a princess. He'd practically do everything and anything for me. Hatid-sundo ako. He'd buy me food and would always make sure that I didn't starve myself. Ewan ko ba. May issue yata talaga si Luke pagdating sa pagkain on time. Dapat may breakfast, miryenda, lunch, miryenda ulit, dinner tapos midnight snack. I literally gained a lot of weight since he started courting me. Which was a good thing, I guess.. because of my condition.

Kahit matakaw siya hindi ko alam paano niya nagagawang i-maintain yung katawan niya. He was still physically fit and geez, does arms.. I didn't know why my heart flutters whenever I see those veins in his arms.

"I have an important announcement!" It was Ma'am Perez.

We all looked at her and stopped eating. Lahat kami hinihintay yung imporant announcement niya. Was it that important para hindi na niya mahintay na matapos yung break namin?

"Chinee has to quit the SAD Club for some personal reason. Which means that no one will be portraying as Sharpey Evans. If you have friends who you think would want to audition kindly inform them to look for me."

There was a buzz of murmuring after Ma'am Perez said that.

"Which also means.." she continued and looked at us all intently. "We also need to re-elect a new president. The nomination for the new president opens now. Any nominee?"

Tumahimik yung buong back stage. Lahat kami parang unti-unti pang inabsorb yung sinabi ni Ma'am Perez. Chinee was a really good president. She was famous at school because of that. Medyo nagiging close na paman din kami. Sayang naman. Nalungkot tuloy ako bigla.

"Ma'am." Tinaas nung isang back-up dancer yung kamay niya. Lahat naman kami tumingin sa kanya.

"Yes?" Naka-taas yung kilay na sagot sa kanya ni Ma'am Perez.

"I nominate Sky Constancia for president."

Unti-unti napa-awang yung labi ko. Me?? For president?!
