We had gotten back into the car, after stopping to get me some water. I chugged it down, sighing after I was done. Emelyn led me back to the car, where Donovan was waiting.
Sitting in the backseat, my arms wrapped around Em's waist as she leaned back into me, I could hear Donovan mumble quietly to himself.
"Gotta, gotta go get my Arabelle. Gotta get my baby and-And I gotta kill that motherfucker who's in the road NIGGA!"
War.
There was a war coming, and none of us were able to stop it.
The vision was so vivid. I could see myself so.. Clearly, see the body of someone I know, yet I don't understand how I don't know them. I could hear the screams of everybody I love, everybody I hate - which is slightly.. A good feeling. I clearly watched myself pounce, ready to tear the figure apart, limb from limb, ready to feel the figure's blood rush down my mouth, to feed, to... To...
/To make your master happy, Alex./
I furrowed my eyebrows. Where that thought came from, I didn't know, but it was so satisfying to hear that i wanted to hear it again.
/Come and start the new world with me, my son. Together, we can grow into a powerful race that can make a new world without the peasants that are called people. Join me, Alexander Sawyer./
I shook my head, closing my eyes tightly. /Stop it,/ I thought, /Get out of my mind!/ I never realized that my skin was heating up until Emelyn was quietly whimpering. I widened my eyes, gently nudging the redhead away from me and rolling the window down.
"You okay, man?"
"I'm fine," I answered, sighing. "Just.. Bad dreams." Emelyn nodded, closing her eyes. "I think we all know how you feel."
/No, you don't. Having these nightmares is the worst thing you could ever, EVER have./
Donovan continued to speak. "Simon, Emelyn and I have decided to.. Go back to furnace." He looked at me through the reirview mirror, as he spoke. "Not to get out back in the cells, but to.. But to get Arabelle, and Zee." He nodded. I widened my eyes when he first said Furnace, yet nodded as he spoke the second time.
"What are we waiting for?" I spoke, "Let's go." Donovan snorted. "Look around, Al. We're uh.. We outta gas."
I looked out the window, raising an eyebrow. "I guess... I guess we'll have to do the hitchhiker thing." I shrugged, opening the door and getting out. I soon begin to walk across the road, holding out a thumb. I repeated this process a few times before feeling horrible pain spread throughout my body as i was jolted a ways down the street.
Before I could realize I got slammed by a car, and before I could realize I was on the ground, I was in a feeling of bliss, all around me. Darkness, like I was sinking farther and farther underwater, fish surrounding me. As I looked around, seeing fireworks above water, I began to swim to the surface, yet a weight was pulling me down. I widened my eyes, before everything around me dissolved into more darkness.
Seems like the dark never ends.
I opened my eyes only slightly, seeing three of everything. Three Emelyn's, three Donovan's, three Simon's..
"Donovan could you come here for a second?" I slurred, my vision blurry.
"Oh shit, guys! GUYS, HE'S NOT DEAD!" I heard him yell, before moving my tongue around my mouth. I couldn't feel any of my fingers, yet I could feel the nectar oulsing through me, struggling to pull me back together.
"Mother of god... Time is a factor, Donovan." He looked at me and ran to me, helping me up. I nodded and stumbled a bit before falling, my butt up in the air, my face on the concrete. The car that hit me was nowhere to be found.
Donovan laughed a bit, helping me up again. "You should get hit by cars more, you act like a drunkard." I glared at Donovan, my head cocking back a little bit due to the nectar.
"Hey D."
"Yeah?"
"Get me some cotton." I mumbled, "I don't want to hear shit jokes right now."
Despite my racist comment, Donovan laughed, holding his stomach.
"You're funny, get in the car. Cracker."
I stepped into the car, Emelyn, Simon and Donovan all in the front seat. I looked at Simon, who was comforting Em. She had tears streaming down her face as Simon struggled to calm her down.
"Emelyn, he's right there." Simon raised an eyebrow. Emelyn turned around before widening her eyes. "O-Oh my god, I thought you were dead! " She crawled into the backseat and over me, pressing gentle kisses on my face. I laughed quietly, rolling my eyes. "Emelyn, i'm fine. You don't have to worry about me, baby."
Emelyn kept her arms wrapped around me, her head now buried in my chest. A few minutes later, she was calm.
"Now that that's over, I can talk. Some guy lent us some gas, and i've used enough of it. We're gonna stop here for tonight." He spoke. I nodded as he and Simon both got situated in the front seat.
"Goodnight, Donovan, Al, Em." Simon spoke quietly, looking out the window. I looked between Simon and Donovan. To lose someone you love.. It must be a horrible feeling. I frowned a bit, closing my eyes and dozing off.
[[ "Alex, can you come here for a second?" I heard mum call me from my room. Raising an eyebrow, I groaned and stepped away from one of my many computers and laptops, sprinting out of my door. I had much more to do (watch porn) than help my mom with dumb flowers. I shut the door to my room, trudging downstairs and outside.
"What do you want, mum?" I tilted my head back and looked up at the sky. I don't know why my mum was calling me, she never has ever since I stole that idiotic locket.
"Nothing, honey. Just the war." I began to roll my eyes before realizing what she said.
"What?"
"Alexander, start a war with me. A new race. A new beginning!" My mom turned around, except... She wasn't my mom. She was... A dude. A monster.
It had jagged teeth, that were yellow. Snot was dribbling from it's nose and it's eyes were red and blue. It had long, ropelike arms with pieces of glass stuck in it. I widened my eyes as it stood up.
It was tall, taller than my dad, than my front door! I shook my head, turning around and beginning to run away from it. ]]
I open my eyes, taking deep breaths. I look around. I'm not at home. I just escaped from Furnace a few weeks ago, and Zee and Arabelle and Donovan were gone.
Zee and Arabelle.. AND Donovan? That wasn't right. I looked around once more, only to see Donovan's car door open. I furrowed my eyebrows, only to see the driver's car door opened and an empty bag of nectar in the seat.
Nectar. My lifesource. The thing keeping me alive.
A drop couldn't hurt.
My eyes began to glow as I removed Emelyn from my grip and began to move towards the nectar.
