Hairspray stung Violets eyes.
"Hurry up; we are going to be late!" screamed Fran, running up the stairs.
Violet grabbed her bag and just before Fran could bang on the door, she opened it and started to go down the stairs, running past her sister. Her mum was waiting by the door with a huge smile on her face. Violet smiled back and opened the car door. Gymnastics training was only ten minutes away from her house. Her passion, gymnastics, was basically her life; and her families.
Education came after gymnastics in Violet's life.
*****
Training for the world championships was hard work for her; she was still so young. In fact, she was the youngest there, which gave her a huge disadvantage when it came to gymnastics.

When they arrived at the training ground, Violet was so shock- stricken by the atmosphere, she forgot she was on the road- obviously pulled over to the side. Therefore, as she swung the car door open, a car came zooming past, barely missing the daydreaming girl. Luckily, nothing hit anyone or anything.
*****
Five minutes later, after she had said goodbye to her mum, she was in the locker room, chatting to her friend, Daisy, who was also competing. Only three gymnasts were in the locker rooms at the moment as they were quite early. The third gymnast looked quite lonely; the two friends walked over to her and to their shock, it was Charlie. Violet knew that she trained here, but she was alone and looked upset. Obviously, Violet rolled her eyes and sat back down by her locker. Daisy on the other hand, didn't know who Charlie was as she didn't go to their school- Violet and her joined training on the same day and immediately started talking and hanging out together- so she comforted her. Violet knew Charle was a horrible person and Daisy got a huge shock when she shoved her away. The confused girl came over to Violet and she explained that she went to her school and that she didn't want to be messing around with people like her. Daisy just nodded but Violet knew that something was on her mind.
*****
Exhausted, Violet and Daisy lined up in the floor ready for the warm up. They had just finished the run around. They had to run round the floor five times and then climb over all three beams, struggle their way through the foam pit, run up to the vault, squat on and full twist off, only to end it with another five laps around the floor.
*****
After warm up, Violets group were assigned to the bars first; her least favourite event. Violets group consisted of only four people: herself, Daisy, April, who didn't speak at all and a girl named Fiona, who talked way too much and sometimes was very distracting. Violet still loved her group and her coach, Coach Mary.
*****
Bars went well; Violet started off by working on her main skills in her routine: kip to handstand, straddle undershoot and her difficult dismount a double twist. After practising all of these skills, she put her whole routine together: kip to handstand to back hip circle to front hip circle to straddle undershoot to kip to another kip and then her very difficult dismount. She only stumbled on her dismount.

So far, this looked pretty promising for the Championships!
