I ran up to here dorm room and quietly knocked on the door. No one answered.
“Z! Open up its Alex.” I banged on the door but she still wouldnt open it. I then remembered that I had a spare key to her dorm on my key chain. I pulled out the key and unlocked the door. I found Z in a cocoon of blankets on the floor.
“Z...”
“WHAT! Can't you take a hint that I don't want to be bothered.” Her voice was muffled under the blankets.
I sighed and sat down on her bed.
“GET OUT ALEX!”
“Nah, I think I need a nap. Your bed is a lot comfier than mine.”
“Alex!” She pulled of the blankets and I took in the tears streaming down her face. I slid off the bed and sat down on the floor next to her and tried to pull her in a hug, but she pulled away and turned around.
“Z, what happened?”
“Nothing. Go away.”
“No...”
“Please.”
She sobbed into her hands and I quicly reached over and tried to pull her into my lap to comfort her, but she gasped and flinched as I put my arms around her.
“Z What is Wrong!”
“Its just a bruise!” She pulled away from me and layed back down on the blankets.
“Let me see it.”
“Its nothing Alex!”
“Arzaniya Sofia Manning! I am here for you. Whatever that girl said isn't true. You are the only one I want.”
She looked at me and I brushed the tears away from her face.
“Roll over.” I said
“Its fine Alex.”
“Z, if its fine just let me see it.” She rolled over and I lifted the bottom of her shirt up and let out a frustrated sigh.
“See its just a bruise.” She said. I lightly traced over the bruise and she pushed my hand away covering up the bruise again.
“Stop Alex that hurts!”
“Z we need to make sure your ribs aren't broken.”
She sighed and scowled at me. I gently pulled her up into my lap and put my chin on her head.
“I will be fine Alex.”
“I just want to make sure nothing is broken ok? We will just go to the nurse on campus.”
She sighed and I pulled her up and took her hand. We walked out the door and to the main office wing where the nurse was. She was on the computer when we walked in and quickly shuffled some papers and stood up when she saw.
“How may I help you two?” she asked.
“I'm worried that my girlfriends ribs are broken.” I saw Z look over at me at the word girlfriend and she smiled.
“Ah, yes well, have a seat over here young lady. What is your name?”
“Arzaniya Manning.”
“And how did this accident occur?”
“My friends scared me this morning and I fell off my bed and landed on a metal bar and some textbooks. I couldn't breathe for a little bit and now I have a huge bruise.”
“I see. I'm going to ask your boyfriend to step out for a bit.”
I smiled and walked out. I figured that she didn't want me to be in the way or see Z when she pulled up her shirt.
