The room was small with shreds of the white tiles slashed through revealing the grey metal behind them, bathed in bright fluorescent lights from above that were kept running twenty four hours a day seven days a week. The room was surrounded on all sides by three foot steel plated walls.
The single door to the room was four foot thick with a control lock that could only be open in a ten second window once a week. It was under a constant four man guard armed with shotguns loaded with incendiary shots. The men faced the door with their locked on it. Knowing that behind the door was the most terrifying thing in the world.
The creature resembled a faceless human silhouette, when it stood on its legs it was five feet three inches tall. Its skin was as dark as the night without any stars, the only noticeable detail on its head was a single slightly lighter shade of black line that went from one end of its face to the other. Its arms sat rigid on his torso and it moved with the speed of an olympic athlete back and forth, slashing the walls with its hands.
Each time it scratched another deep scar was left in the wall, but before the creature would dig at it deeper it would shoot across the room and scratch at the other wall. Again and again and again. Around the creature was an endless labyrinth of white corridors built below the headquarters of Pheonix Inc, the worlds leading producing of weapons and private military corporations.
If the guards could see within the room or maybe heard the sudden silence from the cage they might of known something was wrong. The creature stopped in the middle of the room and stumble to the furthest corner of it from the door.
But what the guards did hear was the sudden sound of gunfire from down the hall, the guards turned from the door and looked at each other. “Should...Should of us go check it out?” The guard on the far right asked.
The group all pressed their fingers to their ears as a loud scream rang through their earpieces, “All teams unknown contact in prison level, converge on hallway one oh eight.” The gunfight rang down the hallway, wrapping around the corner to the four guards like a wave.
Three other guards suddenly appeared from the corner, they were backing up with their assault rifles raised with glowing barrels. There was a sudden flash of a grey form and two of the guards were driven into the wall, their guns dropping to the ground. Their bodies hung there for a moment, withering away until they broke apart into dust.
The third guard stood with his jaw dropped, his gun stopped firing and he gulped, the four room guards raised their own guns and breathed.
The figure pulled away from the wall and the guardsman's blood froze in their veins.
What stood at the end of the hallway was never meant to exist.
It stood like a human with the same basic shape but thats where the similarities stopped. Its eyes were cold heartless black, overlapping stitches ran across its bare grey skin, going from head to toe. It had pieced itself together by either sheer willpower or evil itself. Its gender had slipped even time itselves memory, whomever it had once been was destroyed, completely and utterly gone under the creatures nude flesh and hatred.
It flashed from existence and grabbed the third guardsmen, its long mangled hand somehow clutching the man by his throat and lifting him above the ground. It held him up and the guards hair turned grey, his skin wrinkled as his body aged in an instant. At first the guard struggled, gripping the creatures arm with his hands, but then his arms fell to his sides. The creature held him until the body fell apart into dust, leaving a small pile at the creatures feet.
It lowered its arm almost curiously. Then its eyes fell on the four guardsmen. They froze, their guns forgotten in their hands as the creature slowly walked towards them. The guard on the furthest right broke eye contact with it for a second and his finger squeezed on the trigger. Sending a wall of the dragons breath at the creature. The flames came to the inches from the creatures skin before the fire abruptly stopped.
The creature suddenly vanished and reappeared in front of the two furthest guards from the guard on the right, it grabbed them and they aged to dust in five seconds. The furthest guard turned in time to watch his comrade be grabbed by the throat and thrown to the side, sliding down the hallway and smacking into the corners wall.
The right guard was grabbed by the throat and thrown slightly lighter down the hallway, stopping halfway between the other guard and the door.
The grey eyes fell on the door at it walked forward, as it neared the door the metal rusted away without the creature touching it. It broke away and the creature walked away unimpeded. It stopped in the doorway and its cold black eyes stared at the creature growling in the corner. The creature walked towards it, reaching out its hand to clutch the monsters throat.
“Cut the power in the prison level.” A cold and calm voice commanded in the guards earpiece, there was a moment of silence and then the lights cut out, starting furthest from the room and popping out, one at a time. As they went out the creature looked over its stitched up shoulder and it growled, the lights above it went out and a loud shriek went through the prison level.
The guard moved a wrinkled hand to his side and pulled the emergency flare from his side, striking it and raising it above him like a torch.
He heard another loud shriek and smiled as he thought of the creature being torn to bits by the prisoner. The red emergency lights kicked in, faintly illuminating the hallway but leaving much of in the dark. The guard gulped as he saw a faintly darker splotch of shadow dart past him and round the corner.
Another gut wrenching shriek shook the guard and he turned to the doorway, the creature stood in the gap it had made, its left arm dangling at its side with blood dripping down onto the ground. It shrieked again and the sound echoed down the hallway.
