I woke up off the ground. I wiped some mud off my face. A Daddy-long-legs spider crawled up my sleeve. I flicked it off. I woke up Aiden and Tom. We had some crayfish for 'breakfast'. After breakfast, I went to a nearby cranberry bush and picked some berries. Then I heard someone, grunting in the distance. There was a guy. His eyes were red. "Oh-no. It's the dumb-smug dude. " Tom whispered. "I'll distract him," Tom said. Aiden patted him on the back. I and Aiden started running away. "Hey ugly! Come get me!" Tom shouted. 'Dumb-Smug' dude started chasing Tom. I looked at Aiden who was far ahead. I ran faster to catch up. I looked back at Tom again. He was out of sight. I hope he doesn't get caught. I had caught up to Aiden. We were heading toward a lake. It was not HUGE, but it was big. A small rowing boat was docked near the shore. Without thinking, I jumped onto the boat with tremendous force and almost sank it. Aiden jumped in and he started rowing. We rowed to the middle of the lake, where no one could get us. We sat there relaxed. The oars slipped overboard and into the lake. Aiden tried to get one, but it sank. I looked back at the shore we came from. Tom ran onto the shore, with 'dumb-smug' dude an inch behind him. I gulped. I watched as his hand touches the back of Tom. Tom fell in exhaustion. His eyes red. Aiden shouted for him. 'Dumb-smug' dude started swimming toward us. Aiden put his legs in the water and kicked hard. The boat didn't move. He came back on the boat, not knowing what to do. I looked back at the water, 'dumb-smug' dude was struggling to swim, but he was not far behind. Suddenly, he sank down into the water, while bubble floated to the surface. Phew. I took some time to breathe since I stopped of fright. My heart was beating rapidly. Aiden found to push and move the boat. We were steadily moving to the shore. Suddenly, an arm came out of the water and grabbed the side of the boat. I screamed in fright. Another arm came out and stretched, and touched my arm. My heart stopped for a second. I choked. My eyes burned. I screamed again. Aiden looked at me in terror. He grabbed Amy and started swimming to the shore. I looked at my reflection in the water, my glasses fell into the water and sank. It didn't matter. My eyes felt different. I could see a little less blurry. Still blurry though. I watched the blurry sky, as a rain cloud came into my vision. It started weeping as if it felt my sorrow and fears.
