What you will get from life will not depend on the options available, but the choices you make.
★★★★I was over at Christian house, it was huge. I guess being a successful surgeon has it advantages. Sebastian was sitting on the bar stool. The palour has an adjourned wine bar. Selena was sitting on the couch while I shared a sofa with Alex and Chris. Josh was sprawled down on the rugged floor.
"Ayo, think of it. Your a béllé, but your life is just too stagnant." Sebastian said, crossing his legs.
"What do you mean?" I asked, taking offence.
"See it like this," Sebastian tried explaining, his French accent coming out in waves. "Chèrè, you have an amazing job, your beautiful and famous but you keep restricting yourself from having fun. You meet superstars and movie stars everyday, yet you still only hangout with us not so famous people."
"Bassy is right. You have worked so hard, sit down and enjoy the fruit of your labour." Joe put in.
"Maybe I am trying not to allow this fame to enter my head." I said, trying to defend myself.
"Wait, maybe you don't understand. Ayo your life is boring and too old fashioned. I can't ever be you." Selena retorted, stressig the 'boring' part. She could be a bit insensitive sometimes.
"Yeah, when is the last time you had fun or went on a date or travelled unexpectedly or fall in l..." Bassy listed, waving his perfectly manicured hands around.
" Okay, I got it." I interrupted hastily.
Sheesh, I know my life is boring alright, but I don't care much about that. It might not be fun to others but I like my life the way it is. Somehow.
"Ayo, it not as if you are unsocial generally but you are a . . . ."
"A workaholic." Alex put in sleepily. He loves sleeping, he could sleep in water and on needles if you give him the chance. I pushed him off my shoulders, he cuddled up to Chris, who put his arms around him. I shook my head at them, I love Alex but I wonder how Chris could put up with him.
"I am not," I denied. "just because I like my job doesn't make me a workaholic. Does it, Josh?" I asked, sliding to the floor next to Josh, putting my head on his shoulders.
"No, but working 24 hours 7, does." Josh replied, draining down his third glass of wine.
"Whatever." I was annoyed.
Ding dong, someone was at the door.
"I will go get it." Bassy said, hurrying out of the palour to escape thick tension that filled the air or maybe I am the only one feeling the tension because I am the one they are freaking attacking.
"What happening?" Jessi asked, entering the room with Steve and Bassy trailing behind her.
"They been attacking Ayo about how she is a workaholic and lives a boring life." Alex replied finally awake.
"Almost true." Steve mumbled.
Jessi and I threw him a glare that could have led him six feet under if stares could kill, but I don't think she wants him under.
" Okay, you know what? I will sign up for every activity I come across this year. I will show you my social life isn't as boring as you think."
"I have it all down, you know, for future reference." Bassy said, waving his iphone around with a stupid smirk on his face.
"And every activity you accomplish you have to write it down in this book." Jessi added.
Before I knew it, a pink fountain pen and journal was handed over to me. I knew they planned it.
"While you are at it, try to give a hobo a makeover." Selena said, scowling.
"Why would I do that?" I asked, confused.
" Yeah, why should she do that?" Chris repeated, talking for the first time.
"Because she can't. You know Ayo, she is always too scary cargo try anything new or different." Selena said challenging me.
I hate when people say I can't do something or try to challenge me, it as if they are trying to push me down. "To prove you wrong, I will do it."I said, accepting the challenge.
"But chèrè that too dangerous, the person could be like a series killer or rapist or murderer." Bassy exclaimed, starting to overreact.
"Well, I have a big bad wolf here to protect me, don't I?" I asked, smiling at Josh, who smiled back.
"That's the spirit, girl." Steve cheered.
Selena smirk turned into a smile, transforming her whole face. She might act like a bitch most time but we all know she loves us. We are all family and she means no harm. She just too straightforward and not afraid to speak her mind.
"Guys, the count down has started." Jessi announced leading the way outside. We started to countdown with all the other neighbors who had also come out of their house to see the fireworks.
