Becca,

I feel like things are finally becoming less blurry. I am beginning to let my past grudges go and finally taking a step forward. It definitely hasn't been easy but it's worth it for sure. I like being in control of my own life. I like not having to worry about other people's opinions and feelings. Besides, there's not a lot of people left to care about.

Things are beginning to change a lot. Life is throwing big decisions at me. Everything is becoming more serious now. So surreal. Sometimes when I think about it, fear fills me. Fear of not knowing what's going to happen but then I am also confident in my choices. I love playing soccer and I don't think that is ever going to change. Soccer is a part of me. Ever since grandpa took us to the soccer field when we were kids, I've always wanted to play the sport. I remember when you used to be the goalie and you purposely didn't save the ball from going in the net just so you could see me happy. I wish you were here now so I could show you that you didn't have to pretend anymore.

Ever since you went away, Soccer has been the only thing that has been normal in my life. I am trying to stabilize the rest of my life but I can't help but feel a little scared. Things are finally going good and I don't want anything to screw it up. Summer has been the best. She makes me happy. She makes me feel like no matter what, I'll be fine. She's my hope. I think I am falling for her.

Love,

Aiden

126 days before graduation

"No that wasn't it," Summer laughs. "It was more of a Mr.Parker I will give you detention for the rest of your sorry life." Summer says in a high pitched nasally voice.

"I think Mrs.Edwards has a deeper voice than that." Martin pipes up, taking another swing of his beer. Everyone starts laughing.

"She is out to get me, I swear." I tell them. Anna appears with a few grocery bags and Jake in tow. Ever since Jake's one week suspension, Anna and him decided to make their relationship official.

"I got all the stuff needed to make s'mores, did you idiots start the fire yet?" Anna asks as she sets the bags down on the counter. Jake couldn't carry much due to his broken wrist.

"I thought you guys had a fire going this whole time?" Summer asks.

"Well when you came over one thing led to another and I forgot." I give Summer a knowing smirk and she looks down.

"You guys made out that whole time?" Nate makes an appearance into the kitchen. Lauren and him walk in holding hands. "You texted me and hour ago saying she came over."

"What can I say I'm irresistible." I joke and Summer shoots me a playful glare.

"Well I can just make the fire." Summer offers. She heads out back and I follow.

"Who taught you how to start a fire or were you an arsonist in another lifetime?" I tease her and she laughs.

"My dad, it was a disaster the first few times he tried but I eventually got it." she smiles to herself at the memory. I couldn't really relate to any of the bonding with your parents. After a couple minutes the pit erupts into flames. "Ta dah." Summer says with a smile on her face.

"Awesome Summer, I do not think there isn't anything you can not do." Nate yells from the other side of the yard.

"I know I'm amazing." Summer shouts back. I don't know but Summer and Nate's exchange really irked me. They had been super close lately and maybe it was because they had three classes together.
