lainie stares at the thirteen stripes.
his father was dead.
she picks up each picture of him and her.
jordan was already smoking when she met him.
their bed is too cold.
it had been his way to ease his loss before her.
she wants to scream out when she reaches for him in the dark and finds no one there.
when he was diagnosed with cancer, she had to force him to quit.
the first week wasn't great. neither was the second. after three weeks, he stopped all together and was as fine as it went with lung cancer.
and those were the days of her wondering if he really loved her anymore.
