Ron's point of view
It had been a week since I last saw Hermione...
It was funny how I couldn't remember anything that I'd learned in classes at Hogwarts the day after, yet I managed to still remember the very feeling of Hermione's lips against my cheek, an entire week later. It was a tingly feeling that made my whole being light up, like an electric shock that shot through me. Imagine what it would feel like to actually kiss her again.
"Hey, Kinsley just brought us a new case." Harry said. I looked up at him, pulling the lazy smile off my face that I didn't know was there.
He was carrying a rather thick, red folder. It came as bit of a surprise to me, that the folder was so thick, usually when we start on cases, the folders start out thin and build as we gather information. Now, it started out thick, and I can only guess that, that can't be a good thing.
"His name is Jacob Lanner."
"Why's he got such a thick folder?" I said repeating my thoughts.
"No idea, that's why we should look through it."
I rolled my eyes at him but let out a small chuckle.
"Anyways, a few people said they saw him walking down Knockturn Alley-"
"But that's been shut down for years. No one goes down there anymore." I cut him off.
"I know. Apparently, he has a history. He was a Death Eater, not one of the best though. He went into hiding after Voldemort died. Now, some are saying that they've seen him walking towards Knockturn Alley a few times."
"Is there a pattern?"
"No."
I nodded, trying to think of what the reasoning behind going to Knockturn Alley, would be.
"Okay, let's get started."
We sat at the desk for a few hours working through the files, occasionally calling in someone to look further into a certain paper. In the end, we had a chart of the different dates and times that Lanner went down to Knockturn Alley, along with a board that housed paper records of his Death Eater history. It wasn't much, but it was a start.
"So, tomorrow, let's talk to Robert about having someone look around there." Harry yawned.
"Yeah." I yawned back.
"I'm going to get home, Ginny will be waiting for me."
"Night mate."
"Night."
I stayed behind just to clean up and look over the board again. Then, cutting the lights, I apparated back to my flat.
Just as I was slipping into my, ever so comforting sheets, I heard a light tapping on my window. I looked out the window to see Midnight, Harry's owl, sitting on the window seal. Opening the window to let him in, I untied the roll of parchment from the owl's leg, gave him a treat, and read the letter.
Ron,
Is Ginny with you? She wasn't here when I came home, and I'm not sure where she is.
I thought for a moment, tossing between my sister and my sleep. Eventually, I dragged myself back to my closet for a Chudley Cannon's sweatshirt, sweatpants, and Apparated to Harry and Ginny's flat.
When I arrived, Harry was pacing around the living room, his hands in his already messed up, untidy hair.
"Harry, mate, relax, she's probably just at the Burrow or something."
