"Is she in the room?" Griffin asks quietly.

"Yeah."

"Are you gonna come too?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"I don't want to."

He sighs. "Ok," he says, walking away.

Kelsey walks over to me and sits down. "Heyy, Coop."

"Hi."

"You ok?"

"Why does everyone keep asking me that?" I sigh.

"Because your girlfriend was just in a car accident, babe."

"Right," I say, leaning my head back against the wall.

"Have you been home since?"

"No."

"How many days has it been?"

"Like six, I think. I stopped counting."

"You gotta go home, Coop."

"No."

"Why not?"

"I'm not leaving without her."

"You gotta at least shower and change your clothes."

"All my clothes are at our apartment, and I'm not going back without her."

"..she'd want you to bathe," she smirks.

"This isn't fucking funny, Kelsey."

She sighs. "You're right, I'm sorry," she says, holding her swollen belly.

"When is that thing gonna be out of you?" I ask, pointing to her belly.

"Sometime next week," she slightly smiles.

"Cool," I say. I wanna be happy for her right now but it's so hard.

"Maybe you and Alex can come..you know, when she..remembers."

"If she remembers, you mean."

"Cooper, you gotta stay positive."

"I ran out of positivity five days and twenty three hours ago, Kelsey, sorry. Why don't you go and try to be positive with someone who isn't about to lose the one person that makes their life worth something?"

She says nothing, just shifts in her chair.

"Cooper, she wants to see you."

I look at Griffin as he walks towards us. "What?"

"She keeps asking for you. Only you."

"Who does?"

"Alex."

I sigh and stand, walking down the hall. I go into Alex's room and see her sitting, on her laptop, criss-cross applesauce. She again has on sweatpants and a t-shirt, her hair in a loose poytail, pulled to the front.

She looks up at me and smiles. "Hi."

"Hi," I smirk. "Youu..wanted to see..me?"

She shrugs. "I guess you could say that."

"So you don't?"

"No, I do!" she shouts.

"..ok."

I love you.

"Sorry if I smell like crap, I haven't showered in a..few days," I say.

"It's fine," she smiles. "You're..fine."
