After his duel with Scathach, the witch had explained everything to him, information about Campione and the magic of this world. The witch also explained that she wasn't a Campione because she had become something more than human a long time ago. In exchange, Shirou revealed that he was a magus from another dimension.
"Another dimension," Scathach stared at him in awe. "I've heard of such things but I didn't think that they existed."
"They do," Shirou said. "Can I trust you to keep my secret?"
The witch smiled. "Of course. It's the least I can do for my new ally."
Shirou blinked, confused. "Ally?"
"That's right. You defeated me, making you an impressive opponent. Not to mention you need help in this new world. From this day forward, I will be your sworn ally."
Shirou smiled. "Thank you. I really appreciate it."
Scathach smiled. "Now where do you want to go? I can create a portal to any land with my shadows."
"Japan would be fine," Shirou said.
"Japan," Scathach repeated. "You've got to be careful there. I've heard that there is a new Campione there."
Scathach snapped her fingers and shadows moved towards the center of the room. The shadows took a physical shape and became circular. Scathach threw a stone with runes on it.
"I've enchanted this stone with communication runes. If you ever need help, just call," Scathach told him.
"Thanks for everything," Shirou said, stepping through the portal. It was time he got home.
