Dune woke up from his sleep, getting to his paws, stretching.
"Dune."
He turned to acknowledge the voice. "Ah, morning Fang." He greeted the aging bronze tabby tom with a dip of his head."I had a good feelin' in my bones when Dusk picked you to be his successor. I remember when you were born like it was yesterday." He rasped, leaning into his shoulder to give his pelt a lick.
Dune lifted his chin, pride in his gaze. "My father was a great pharaoh. Now I can carry his name in leading his Clan." He meowed. Fang's ear twitched. "It seems that things are well here." He rasped.
"Yes. Very well indeed." Dune agreed. Jewel was lowered on her belly, exchanging conversation with Sun. In another part of their camp, Desert was telling his kits a story. He drew near to listen.
"Your grandfather, Dusk, fought with the strength of a Twoleg pharaoh, not to say your father doesn't do the same of course." She rasped giving a humorous mrow to the four kits.
"What happened then Desert?" Beetle squeaked curiously.
"Well, with all of his strength, he gave the bandit a thrashing he'd never forget. And OasisClan was safe." She meowed, finishing her story."Yay! Tell us another one!" Ordered Ripple, his bright green eyes round with interest. She looked up from the kits for a moment. "Sand! Fetch me a mouse!" She ordered to a striped yellow tom. He had a nicked ear, when a good look at him was given, and a hind paw bracelet.
"Of course Desert." Dipping his head respectfully, he dashed to the fresh-kill pile and picked up a piece of fresh-kill for her. The she-cat bit into her prey. "Get out of my sight peasant." She grumbled.
"O-Of course.." he bowed to the elder and walked away.
Dune eyed the striped yellow tom as his tail dragged in the sand to his companions, Distance and Jasper, two other fellow peasants of OasisClan."Peace is truly welcomed." He mewed. Jewel drew near him and nuzzled into his neck. "I agree." She purred.
"My father's Clan he passed down to me will prosper. I'll fight to the death if that's what it takes." He mewed.
"You have kits you know." She pointed out in a gentle loving voice. Dune purred. "Never would I dream or leaving them." The hairless tom meowed.
