Frei was falling. Falling. Falling.

The spinning gale that flung him and his companions to the sky had gone. They were surrounded instead by gusts of hail, a storm of charcoal feathers, and the chilling sound of a monster's roar. Frei tried to claw for something, anything that would stop him from spinning out of control. Billowing hail tore at his sleeves, breaking his skin. He felt the panicked beating of his heart rattle his insides as the echo of flapping wings drew nearer and nearer...

"Eeeek!"

Eloise's shrill cry snapped him out of his panic, arcing his body in a way that had him facing the sky instead of the ground. He found Eloise spinning uncontrollably a few feet above him, Lotus following after her another foot higher. The wolf seemed to fare better with his fall as he stretched his body like he was diving. The wolf snapped his jaws at Eloise's hair, pulling at it so that she stopped whirling uncontrollably.

"Eloise!" Frei called her. He felt like all the air in his lungs were punched out with the air pressure, but he had to keep his body steady.

"Maribagoth!" she cried.

"Don't struggle!" Frei responded. "I'll catch you!"

He stretched his limbs, arms wide open as Eloise drew nearer. Getting the hint, Eloise stretched her arms until she was near enough to wrap them around Frei's torso in a tight embrace.

"Use your power, Son of Deu!" Lotus roared. The wolf's blood red eyes were wide with panic as the leviathan slowly closed its distance.

A loud screech tore through the wind. The monster had flown up, only to dive back down with jaws open.

Lotus arced his body until he spun, his tail turning fiery. The wolf's tail-turned-blade slashed against the leviathan's chin, momentarily breaking its momentum.

Frei clung tighter to Eloise, closing his eyes and gritting his teeth as he focused his magia and shined.

"Resonatem!" Frei shouted with all his might.

The glow of his body expanded, filling the twisted sky with sunlight. The sharp, icy clouds shattered into the softer, cotton-like masses of air that loomed over Frei's world. Magia blanketed the firmament of the Otherland in ripples of power, casting away shadows and pushing back the Jabberwocky to the farthest distance. The beast's surprised cry glided away from them like a soft yet mighty breeze.

Like memory, fleeting into the far reaches of the unknown.

"We are still falling!" Lotus yelled, eyes squinting at the bright light coming off of Frei.
