Something was different, what? Heck if I could tell you, Most of Fairy Tail was doing the usual routine of accidentally throwing a beer, starting a fight, breaking something and then getting scolded by Erza Scarlet. but for a certain other crowd, it wasn't the same.
Wendy, being young and all didn't quite hear her callings as strong as other dragon slayers would. After sitting at a table with some of the other ladies in the guild she hears Natsu beckoning her over to him not so quietly, some people turn to look but most don't since they've learned how to tune Natsu's very common yelling out.
Wendy dismisses herself from a conversation about shopping and walks over to the fellow dragon slayer, He briefs her on where they're going and why.
"Gramps needs us for a conversation, err meeting thing, apparently it's because it's ' a certain time of the year' for us dragon slayers, not sure what that means but I think Lucy has said that she has it too so she must know what's going on".
Wendy changes the topic before Natsu can say too much and end up embarrassing the both of them. luckily they were at Master Makarov's office already.
Wendy and Natsu took a seat across from the other two Dragon slayers.
"I'm glad you kids agreed to meet me within a reasonably timed manner, I can assume you must feel different, like a piece of a puzzle is gone, Making you incomplete. The reason is a heavy one, You will be going through a time of exploration, named animalistically as 'Mating season'"
Everybody in the room was tense as Makarov spoke, all but a confused Natsu.
"So? Why should somethin' change?" Gajeel voiced harshly.
"Because you all would be a danger to the guild and create more havoc than is already in place."
Just as the master had spoken a loud bang shortly followed by lots of yelling rang through the air.
"I see your point" Wendy agrees
"So is it just us or..?" Laxus questioned, asking if the Twin dragons and Cobra had been affected as well.
"They will also be with you." Makarov sighed. Knowing it was a bad idea for anyone to be around Natsu during this time.
"With us?! Where are ya' sending us?" Natsu demanded.
"To an island just west of Era, the magic council will be keeping an eye on you, so once you leave. I am no longer responsible of you four." Makarov was relieved that the Dragon Slayers would be out of his hair for just shy of 7 months, at least what hair he had left anyway..
"You will be leaving in one week, be prepared. Natsu and Laxus" Makaroved sighed "Make sure you pack and check your list over 10 times a day before we head out, I would recommend you have someone with a brain that isn't fried help you."
Natsu was out the door the minute Makarov said 'pack', Laxus just groaned and left. Wendy and Gajeel had already left the room.
This was going to be an interesting year...
