Jiro's POV:
September First:
It was Friday, September first, and the twins were having a huge party at their house. All the drama was cleared up, and everyone in the sixth grade was invited, even Ash, even though she's a highschooler. What most excited me about the party, was that Abbie was coming.
Since Ash told me that Hunter and Abbie aren't really dating, that made me all the more happy I was going.
The school day dragged along, filled with our usual Friday tests and weekend homework.
The whole day, I absolutely could not focus for my life as I waited for 6:30 to arrive.
As I got ready for the party, which started at 6:30, I threw on my black Salty Crew shirt and some tan Dickeys, with my black and white checkered Vans. I made sure my hair looked on fleek, nice and gelled and everything.
When I got to the party, they were blasting Migos music. A ton of people from Northwood were here, but I also recognized some sixth graders from other schools in the area.
A huge group of people were crowded in the center of the large room, but there was only one person who stood out. Abbie was in the middle of the dance floor, talking to Hunter and Hannah.
She wore some light wash skinny jeans and a cranberry red t-shirt with lace long sleeves. Her chocolate hair was curled into delicate, neat curls that framed her face perfectly, and she wore a few swipes of pink lip gloss and mascara, all to finish it off.
Who she was looking hot for, I really don't know, but all I know is that I was desperate for her. It sounds weird, but I was in love.
More and more people I recognized and didn't recognize piled into the colored light filled room, and it started to get a bit too crazy for my liking, so I went upstairs and sat on the white wooden outdoor deck to get some fresh air.
Two people that were talking exited the deck through the door as I stepped out.
I only recognized one as Nick, but the girl I didn't know at all.
I sat out there for a few minutes, thinking about how I wish Abbie and I had a chance.
Jabbie would never happen, not with my kind of luck.
I was about to get up and go get a drink when I heard a small female voice behind me.
"What're you thinking about, Jiro?"
I spun around, only to find that of all people, of all times, it was Abbie.
"Oh...uh..nothing," I stuttered. She sat me down in the white folding chair, and sat herself down in the identical one across the black metal table.
"Jiro, we need to talk," she said.
"Uhh..about..uh..what," I attempted to respond. How was I always so awkward around her?
"About us you idiot!" she continued, almost a little too loudly.
I blushed, hoping it wasn't obvious.
"But there is no us...right?" I wondered. "Cause you and Hunter.."
"There is no me and Hunter, Jiro," she explained. "That was to make you jealous!"
Ohhhh. I finally realized what she'd done this whole time.
"Abbie.."
"Jiro?"
"Abbie. I'm in love with-" She cut me off with nothing other than those pink lipgloss covered lips.
