|Jonathan's POV|
We have now been sitting here for over two hours. Hoping that the huge group of zombies will just walk away on their own. But they keep roaming around in circles. We need some kind of distraction but we left most of our stuff in the car. We can't make a run for the car either. Even tho we parked in only few meters away from the store there's still to many of them. I look at Sherwin. He has curled himself up in a small ball, trembling as he's tightly holding onto his weapon. I tired to comfort him multiple times but the fear in him grows after every second. I searched the place for any possible solution but there's absolutely nothing that could help us. The only thing we can do is wait and hope for the best.
I take one more look around the store before sitting down next to Sherwin. I take the weapon from his hands and try to calm him again.
"It's alright, we'll get out of here. It might take time but we will. I promise."
His expression doesn't change much but he turns to look at me.
"H-how can you be so sure? W-what if you're wrong, we're going to die here."
Tears start to form in Sherwin's eyes again, I gently wipe them away with my thumb and then wrap my jacket around him.
"Just leave it to me, I'll do anything I can to save us alright."
He nods and pulls my jacket close around him. They cold air now attackin my bare arms I shiver. Only in a few months it'll be winter and even though it makes zombies slower it could also end up freezing us to death. I climb up on the roof again. The zombies have spread out a bit more now but nearly not enough. It would still be hard to drive past all of them. I suddenly from a distance see a car. My eyes lit up. Oh please, come this way. If this car drives close enough it might attract enough attention to distract the zombies and make them move away from here. I keep my eyes on the car, it keeps dissapointing behind buildings but still comes somewhat closer. Out of nowhere it suddenly takes a sharp turn, going full speed at the opposite direction. What happened. It then crashes into a building, a woman climbs out who seems to be injured and screams for help. The loud noise from the crash and her screams seem to be working. The zombies start to move in her direction. I quickly make my way downstairs telling Sherwin what just had happened. We gather out things and get ready to run for the car.
Once the zombies have made their way half way to the car crash we quickly exit the store. Luckily none of them notice us. I turn on the engine and drive off as fast as I can. Looking into the mirror I see the zombies reach the area where the woman was. I feel bad, using someone elses death and suffering in order to save our own lives.
It doesn't take long until we're finally back at our house. After carrying all of our bags inside we take a moment to just sit down and rest.
Sherwin throws his head back on the couch, covering his eyes with his hands. I take a seat across him on one of the armchairs. He parts his hands a bit and looks at me.
"Let's stay here for a while now, I'm not ready to relive that experience."
I nod.
"Yeah, that was pretty intense. We should have enough supplies now anyway to survive for at least a month so that won't even be a problem to stay inside for a while."
I would quite enjoy that actually. Back in the base we were always constantly working, trying to find more supplies or find other groups of people, maybe even find a cure to this madness. So spending a bit of time relaxing without any responsibilities sounds quite nice.
I grab the book I was looking at yesterday and decide to read for a bit. Meanwhile Sherwin takes a little nap on the couch. He must be exhausted. I notice that he is still wearing my jacket. For some odd reason I find him surprisingly cute like that. I guess he is my type but there would be no time to think about romance in times like this. I go back to reading my book, evey once in a while looking up at Sherwin. He looks a lot more happier when sleeping. Guess it's a good way to escape the real world like that for a while._____________________

_____________________|Sherwin's POV|
Feeling myself wake up from the dreamland I rub my eyes. Yawning, I slowly sit up and look at the clock on the wall. Wow, I slept for quite a few hours. Jonathan doesn't seem to be around, I wonder where he is. Hearing my stomach growl I decide to munch on some of our new food. Walking into the kitchen and over to the table I grab an apple from one of the bags and take a big bite out of it. Grabing another one with me I go looking for Jonathan. As I walk upstairs and past his door I hear the shower. Oh, he must be taking a shower then. Leaving the second apple on his bed I return to my room. Sitting behind the table I continue eating my apple while also pulling out a notebook. For the past month I have written everything up in this. At first I used it to keep track on all of my supplies but now it's more of a diary. A nice way to calm myself. And who knows maybe someday it'll be useful for people to find out what happened, if they ever find it of course. I write a few pages about today and yesterday. Busy scribbling little sketches and adding little notes to them I didn't even notice how Jonathan got out of the shower and walked into my room before I saw his shadow appear on the table. Jumping a little I turn around, immediately blushing. Jonathan, standing right behind me with only a towel wrapped around his waist, munching on the apple I left for him and running a hand trough his wet hair is looking way to good right now. Cursing myself mentally I try not to stare at him for too long. Obviously, I fail. He points at the notebook.
"What's that?"
I turn back to the table, hiding my agressive blushing.
"I-It's my j-jornual, ever s-since the apocalypse started I-I've been writing a-about it."
He seems interested.
"That's cool, can I read it?"
I nod and hand him the notebook. He takes it and leans against the table.
He flips trough the pages, stopping at some of them while I desperately try to look away from his oh so perfect body. I feel so ashamed to even think about him like that. After few minutes he places the notebook back on the table.
"I like it, seeing the apocalypse through another persons eyes really makes you think deep about it huh."
With a sweet smile he then start walking back towards his room.
"I'll go get some sleep now. Good night Sherwin."
Still a bit red from the face I give him a shy smile as well.
"G-good night."
Once he dissappears in his room I let out a long sigh. God, why can't I just act normal around him.💙💙💙
