One Month Later

"Great!" Rob said as I finished my new song. Rob was the music producer. He was nice, talented and really tall. He had black hair and brown friendly eyes. He liked to joke around and it made recording music all the more better.

I smiled and grabbed my guitar as I left the recording room to talk to Rob. The new song was called, "So Unfair". I wrote it when I was angry a few years ago at the guy I liked. It turned out pretty good. I suggested to Rob that he should get me angry more often.

"What do you think about acoustics now?" He asked.

  "Great."

As Rob began to talk about all his ideas, I drifted off. I began to think about Hunter again and if we were ever going to get our song done. I nodded, pretending that I was listening to Rob. It's been a whole month since that stupid picture of me and Hunter was put on TV. But luckily it died down after about a week. I was starting to think it was all a dream. I suddenly remembered how good Hunter smelled and, coincidentally, my phone went off, startling both me and Rob.

"Oh, jeez, sorry, hold on, lemme take this." I said quickly, rushing out of the room and into a hall.

"Hello?" I said, I didn't recognize the number.

"Hey Danielle!" An all too familiar voice said.

"Oh, whoa! Hi Hunter!" I said, startled. "You can, uh, call me Danny if you want." I added awkwardly.

Hunter chuckled, "sounds good to me. Hey, we need to plan a date to meet for this song."

My heart leaped, he didn't forget! "Umm.. lets seee"

We eventually planned for Hunter to meet me at my studio in a week. I couldn't stop smiling. I was ACTUALLY singing a song with Hunter Hayes!

"Alright, cool." I said into the phone.

"Yeah... um...Hey Dan-" He decided to call me Dan now. "Did you see that picture of us on TV?"

  "Ugh, yeah."

"Oh..um.. I just wanna say I don't... like you.. THAT way.." he said awkwardly.

A little piece of my heart broke, I gave a small half-hearted giggle. "Me neither."

"Okay," Hunter said. "um, that's good, I guess."

"Yeah," I said, "Alright, well, I'll see you in a week?"

"Yeah.." Hunter said, sounding a little sad and trailing off.

  "Okay, Bye, Hunter."

  "See ya, Dan."

I sighed, I knew he didn't like me that way, but why was I so sad? Besides, I don't like him that way. There's no way I would have a chance with him, he's a country star! Then again, so am I.. sorta. I guess all we'd ever be is friends, and i'm totally fine with that. Not everyone gets to work with their idol!

I walked back into the studio and announced to Rob the date that Hunter would come.

"Great!" Rob said. He liked to say "great" a lot. "Lets get working on writing that song, shall we?"
