As a week had gone by, Gahyeon had started to understand modern society. Xander had caught her up with all international events.
“So, when do I start school?” Gahyeon asked.
He tapped his fingers on the table thinking of a response.
“Well, I don't know. Do you think you'll be safe enough with ‘they’ being out there?”
Gahyeon nodded slowly trying to get an approval.
“I think I'll be safe enough, besides I want to live my life as a normal teenager. Not just locked up again.” She said sadly.
He noticed her upset tone and sad expression. Sudden guilt had washed over him.
“I get that. I'm sorry, I just don't want you getting hurt at school. Kids are cruel at times, sometimes they just make certain kids' lives a living hell. And I know you won't do that, but I still worry.” He said as he lightly patted her head.
Gahyeon smiled shyly and laughed.
“Why would I ever make anyone's life a hell? I mean no harm.”
Gahyeon laughed a bit in her head. Of course, she didn't want any kid to make their lives a hell. She wanted to drive Yoohyeon insane enough to lose her sister.
“Of course I know you'd never hurt anyone. You're practically an angel.”
But if only the truth wasn't so hard to find. Gahyeon had planned so much, but her main concern for how she was going to get people on her side. She already had Xander with her, but perhaps the troubled kid next door can be help to her.
Gahyeon excused herself to the back of the house. She opened the back door and to her luck she noticed the boy she was looking for.
She leaned against the porch as she stared at him light up a cigarette and perfectly place it in between his lips.
“If you take a picture, it'll last longer.” He mumbled against his cigarette.
Gahyeon smiled at his response, but only continued to stare at him.
“Technology is for suckers, I like to remember people who interest me by memory.”
He chuckled as he brushed back his black slick hair.
“Are you sure you should be talking to me? Isn't your dad going to yell at you for speaking to delinquents?” he pressed his palm against his temple and stared at Gahyeon.
His dark eyes mesmerizing her, sure almost everyone brown eyes, but his were clouded with mystery that made only fed onto her curiosity.
“Father never told me to stay away from things that interested. Besides, I can watch you inhale the toxic stick of a cigarette burn away your stress.”
His closed his eyes as his palm rubbed his temple smiling at her words.
“Well aren't you peculiar.” He chuckled as he breathed in the smoke of his cigarette.
“Do you want a try or something?” He pointed his cigarette at her.
She smirked and laughed.
“So I can destroy my lungs slowly? I already died once, I can't destroy myself again just yet.”
He chuckled under his breath hearing her response. She clearly wasn't just any person. Peculiar indeed.
“Well, If you excuse me, cigarette boy. I have things to do now.” Gahyeon smiled at him innocently then turned back towards her door.
