Keith's webcam flashed on and the screen changed to show Lance. He seemed different than he usually did in the calls that they did every once an a while.

His usual smile wasn't plastered onto his face and his eyes seemed red and puffy, almost as if he had been crying. He seemed pretty shaken up. "

Lance?" Keith said softly, wishing he could reach into the screen and hug the boy. "Are you okay?"

Lance sniffled and shook his head. "Something happened," he said, his voice taken down to a whisper as he spoke. His tone was different than the one Keith had been use to; quiet, fearful, hurt.

"What happened?" He asked, worry laced in his voice as he spoke. "I don't know what to do," Lance said to Keith, choking back a sob. "I'm scared, Keith. I'm scared to be me. I just-I just want to be accepted." A sob escaped his mouth.

"Lance, it's okay," he whispered. "Where are you right now?" Keith asked, frowning. "The park," he responded inbetween his sobs, "by the mall." His voice was hushed as he sloppily wiped the tears off his face.

"Hold on," Keith muttered, closing his laptop and snatching his keys off the table.

He closed the door to his car, scanning the area for Lance.

"There you are," he muttered, walking over to him and immediately wrapping his arms around him. "It's okay," Keith whispered as Lance buried his face in the crook of his neck, sobs racking his body.

"I'm here now," he whispered, hugging him tight and not letting him go.

"I'm not going anywhere."

After about 10 minutes, Lance's sobs died down. He pulled away, wiping away his tears with the sleeve of his sweater.

"Sorry," he whispered, shaking his head. "I probably look like an idiot right now. Didn't expect this to be how we met," Lance muttered, laughing softly.

Keith just smiled fondly at the boy. "Well, I'm very dramatic," he responded, laughing as well. "I can see that," Lance said, pulling him in for a tight hug.

"Thank you. I needed this." Keith sat down next to him on the bench. "Of course," he said, smiling.

"Can I ask you something?" he said, looking at Lance.

"When you said you didn't know if you liked me as a friend or something more than that..what did you mean? I was gonna ask you over chat, but then you stopped talking to me for a while, and by the time we started talking again, I-"

He was interupted by Lance shushing him. "You ramble worse than me," he laughed, smiling.

Keith swore he could see a blush on his cheeks, but that was probably just the light. "I-uh-I didn't know what I was feeling. I mean, I had thought you were cute and all, and I might have kinda pondered the possibility of dating you, like, a lot-" Keith could tell he was probably blushing like crazy.

"You what?" he asked Lance. "I-uh-may or may not have wanted to date you." Keith paused.

"Do you-er-still want to?" The blush on his cheeks spread like wildfire. "Um- M-Maybe," Lance said softly. "I mean-only if you want to-I can understand if you don't want to, really, I do-I just-" Keith shut him up by pressing his lips onto Lance's.

"Of course I do, doofus," He said, a huge smile plastered onto his face as he pulled him in for another hug.

"Thank you," Lance told him, smiling as he wrapped his arms around Keith. "Of course," Keith muttered, burying his face into Lance's sweater, his cheeks tinted red.

"Anytime."
