Chapter Six: Going to the set again

Because there were six of us, we arranged for Ryan, Steve-O and Chris to go in Ryan's car and Johnny, Bam and myself to go in Johnny's which I was fine with.

"Shotgun!" Bam shouted with a smirk. I had no argument this time so I just rolled my eyes and laughed.

The drive was really good. The weather was amazing again today which was brilliant because I was wearing summer clothes.

I wore denim shorts that were not too short and a cream, lace crop-top that only shown a small bit of my stomach. I also wore my red chucks for a little bit of colour and my leather jacket, again.

I perched in the middle of the back seats so I was in-between Johnny and Bam who were in the seats infront. Johnny rolled his window down and so did Bam. They happily chatted while I leaned back against the seat with my eyes closed, I was still tired but I didn't look it because I put more make-up on my face that day.

Halfway into the drive, we heard a car horn behind us and I turned to look out the back window to see Ryan and Steve-O sitting in the front seats of his car which was behind us, laughing.

I waved; starting to laugh and Johnny looked into his rearview mirror and chuckled at them too.

We arrived at the set after twenty-five minutes. Jeff greeted us and gave the Jackass crew a run-down of what stunts they were doing that day.

I stood around most of the day and watched the guys perform outrageous stunts. One of which had me very worried for Johnny's safety. It was 'The Invisible Man' stunt which featured him covered in paint to blend into a painting behind him and a bull charged towards him and he basically just went flying into the air.

Nearly every single person standing by had their hands over their mouths and was worried for him, the ones who didn't; they were actually trying to help him.

He was okay but he had to be checked by the medic just to be sure. The day flew as we stood by and laughed at the silly things that the boys did.

It was around 3pm that Jeff unexpectedly gave me a coffee and I thanked him.

"You look like you need it." He smiled, standing next to me.

"Well, I did get rudely woken up by Ryan and Bam this morning," I rolled my eyes and giggled, taking a sip of my coffee. "Thank you, Jeff."

"Listen, Lana. I wanted to talk to you," He said, "You've grown up since we last saw you, haven't you?" I nodded, wondering what he was trying to tell me.

"Well, I really wanted to ask you, again, if you wanted to join the crew." He asked, hopefully.

"I don't know, Jeff. It seems dangerous." I answered, thinking about what I really wanted to do.

"It would only be for the Public Reactions scenes. Like, Rick and I thought of a brilliant idea for it but we needed a woman and I feel like you would be perfect for the job."

"What is the idea?" I asked, drinking the coffee.

"Well, bare with me on this. But we thought about having a woman dress up as if she is pregnant and then have her seem like she is going into labour and to see people's reactions. But then I want her to say that she is fine and just sort of walk away, like it's just nothing. I know it seems bizarre." He grinned.

"Yes it does." I was so confused, I didn't really fully understand what he was talking about.

"But we think it will be really funny so will you do it, or at least consider, doing it?" He asked.

"I can't act, Jeff. I would probably mess it up." I said, shaking my head. I wanted to do it for the comedy of it but I didn't think I was a good actress for the cameras.

"We don't want somebody who can act, we want somebody who is funny and we all know that you are funny." He said, chuckling slightly.

"You think I'm funny?" I asked gobsmacked. I thought I was the least funny woman in the world. He could have been saying it to persuade me.

"Yes, of course," He turned around and saw Ryan standing nearby. "Hey Ryan, can you come here for a moment?"

Ryan nodded and walked towards us. "Yes?" He asked.

"Do you think Lana is funny?" Jeff asked him and he nodded.

"Yes, very. Why?" He asked Jeff and looked at me.

"She doesn't think that she's funny." Jeff explained, Ryan just nodded and walked away.

"See?" He said, "You are funny. So are you in?"

I thought about it, I didn't have to ask anyone's permission because my parents were in England. It was going to be out of my comfort zone but you have to try new things, right?

"Okay, I'm in." I answered, smiling.

"Brilliant!" Jeff replied and went to tell the producer. What have I gotten myself into?
