"Alright this is for all you lovers." I smiled to the small audience I had out on the corner
"Laying beside you, here in the dark." I began to play my guitar and sing Open Arms by Journey
Two more people walked up, one was in a black hoodie, covering his face. The other, in a grey hoodie, also covering his face. All I saw were seeing glasses.
I continued the song, when I saw Natalie, a girl I always feud with over this spot, walk up and take an authoritative stance.
I went ahead and finished the song, and began to pack up.
"Well well well, if it isn't mrs wannabe. This is my corner, stay away you little twerp." She walked up to me with her backup
"Twerp? What, are we in second grade? Plus, I was here first. I'm leaving anyways." Closed up my guitar case and bumped past her.
"That's all you ever do. Run away from your problems. That's probably why no one ever adopted you. No one wants a psycho coward."
I stopped for a second, "Natalie, listen.. This little feud was cute in high school. But it's over now. We're adults, old enough to drink, so let's just end this."
"Aw you think this is still over Brad?" She asked mockingly
"I never mentioned Brad. You're the one that brought him up, so it's obvious that in your little head, it is. Look, he left you for me. I turned him down and he went crawling back to you. I did my part, he was a douche."
"The only reason he wanted you was because he heard you were giving it out free."
I felt tears develop in my eyes, so I walked away. "I'm done with this. Take your fucking corner. Goodbye, Natalie. Have a nice life."
"Get back here and fight like a man!" She laughed as I walked to the bus stop across the street
"Hey." I heard a voice say over me "you alright?" The same guy that was standing watching me with the black hoodie sat next to me. His friend in the grey hoodie standing on the other side of me.
"Yeah perfect." I put my head down and wiped away a tear
"No you're not. It's okay to cry." He put his hoodie down "I'm Pete." He smiled extending his hand
"Great." I laughed looking up. "Right okay, yeah. I'm Roquel. But I go by Roqy." I shook his hand
"And my quiet friend over here is Patrick." He pointed to the guy wearing a grey hoodie
"Yeah sorry. Hi." Patrick put his hoodie down and smiled at me
"Hey I have a car if you need me to drive you home." Pete offered, seeing the bus was out of order
"No. I have to make a couple stops. It's alright, I'll walk. It'll do me good, I could afford to lose a few pounds." I laughed to myself standing up
"No please. We have all day, let us take you." Pete stopped me
"Yeah okay. I guess." I grabbed my guitar and followed them to the car
"Milady" Patrick held the passenger door open for me
"Oh, um I'll sit in the back." I smiled
"No, please. I insist."
"Okay.. But um my guitar.."
"I'll take it in the back with me."
"Um.."
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of it."
"Okay, thanks." I handed my guitar to him and sat down
"Okay, where you heading?" Pete asked starting the car
