seven.

A cool breeze whips up and her hair dances like ribbons in the wind. The air slaps her cheeks and for the first time she feels the weight of the reality she's been dropped in. Really feels it.

The world from inside the pokemon center had seemed so small. Like the probability of it all disappearing during the half a second she might take to blink was one hundred and ten percent.

But the moment everything becomes tangible is one that nearly takes her breath away and has her gasping for oxygen. Jihoon doesn't even notice Kei's awestruck wonder as he pulls her along, and she gapes at the buildings and people and the flock of Pidgeys flying overhead that look like they're right out of a cartoon.

And then she chuckles to herself. Laughs, even. Because they are. They completely and totally are.

Dashing down the cobblestoned pavement with  Teddiursa tucked into the groove of her elbow and Jinyoung trailing some twenty feet behind her, she smiles into the breeze and lets Jihoon take her wherever.

Eventually they stop in front of a building. One that stands out among the rows of houses and stores with brightly painted welcome signs. This one is silver, and more curt, somehow. All stainless steel and a feel of importance.

Jihoon whips around to face her with a bright grin. Practically glowing. "We're here!"

Two seconds later Jinyoung runs up, almost collapses into the ground and doubles over on his knees, heaving oxygen.

"Why do you guys run so fast?" He pants.

Kei begins with a sympathetic smile but has no time to apologize before Jihoon is tugging her through a pair of automatic sliding doors. Jinyoung groans, but follows nonetheless.

The inside looks exactly what she'd imagine a pokémon laboratory would. Immaculate, shiny almost, with animated people walking around swiftly in their spotless white lab coats and arm bundles of paperwork. There's more machinery than Kei is capable of comprehending, and of course, plenty of pokémon. A pachirisu dashes across the floor and between her legs, as a flustered looking assistant chases after it. Kei's heart does somersaults in her chest.

And despite the part of her that has passed this off as some crazy vivid dream, a different part really hopes that it's not.

"Professor Rowan!" Jihoon shouts gleefully at a man standing at the center of it all.

No way...Kei thinks to herself in awe.

The man, with grayed hair jutting from his scalp in all sorts of different directions, turns to look at the trio. His eyebrows are lifted in question and he's got a hand on his chin, like he's been pondering something before Jihoon's interruption.
