    Teddiursa stills in Kei's arms, it's lip quivering just before it bursts into tears. Big animated droplets drip down the pokemon's face as it wails and Kei feels her heart crack with guilt. She scared the poor thing.

Butㅡshe was scared. She had somehow managed to wake up in a strange and foreign world, what appeared to be the pokemon universe no less, after her satanic nintendo ds swallowed her with light and now she looked like a goddamn anime character and she sort of just wants to curl up and cry herself.

Maybe if she goes back to sleep when she wakes up she'll find that all of this was just some strangely vivid dreamㅡor maybe if she just pinches herself real hard she can wake up right now andㅡ

The door to her room swings open so fast it hits the wall behind it and has the hair on the back of Kei's neck standing as she jumps eight feet back and almost screams again.

Teddiursa cries harder than before and buries its face into her shirt as Kei stares at the boy in the threshold with wild eyes. He's got wavy brown hair that falls over his forehead, partially tucked under a cap, eyes that are more amber than chocolate, he's clad in what Kei swears Red wore in earlier games, and he's just as animated as everything else.

"I'm going crazy." Kei whispers so quietly she barely hears herself speak.

"You're awake!" Exclaims the stranger. He rushes past the threshold and into the room. Kei takes a step back instinctively, but the boy doesn't seem to notice. "How do you feel? Are you alright? What's your name?"

The teenager sends a volley of question at her all at once and she doesn't know how to process them all. Shouldn't she be the one asking questions and not vice versa?

So she answers a question with a question. "Am I dreaming?"

"Dreaming?" The unnamed boy asks, who Kei only now realizes has two pokemon sitting on either of his shoulders. A bright orange fire monkey on the right and a small, mouse like creature with plus signs on its cheek pouches sits on the left. Both watch her intently, mimicking their trainer's expression. "I would hope not. You've had enough time to dream the past two days."

Kei swallows. "Two days?"

The boy appears to be just as puzzled as she is. "Do you not remember what happened? Anything?"

"No..." Kei says softly. "Iㅡwhat happened?"

"Jinyoung and I, we found you in the woods a couple days agoㅡ"

Before the stranger can finish, Kei's stomach growls so loud it has them both reeling back and looking startled. For some reason Kei feels herself go red with embarrassment as the boy chuckles and rubs the nape of his neck with his palm. "Aw, you must be really hungry? That's okay, we actually just ordered food. Get ready if you'd like and meet us in the lobby, I'll tell you everything there."

Kei nods and watches as the boy steps to leave the room, but turns back to her at the last second. "Sorry, I never got your name?"

"OhㅡIㅡjusㅡum, it's Kei. My name is Kei." She stammers and her cheeks flame more violently than before.

"Nice to meet you, Kei." The boy smiles warmly. "You can call me Jihoon."

And with that the boyㅡJihoonㅡdisappears, closing the door behind him.
