"I dunno what you're talking about!" I protested, seeing the two girls advance toward me with a scowl on their faces. "C'mon, guys, you gotta believe me, I've been with you the whole day!"

"Tell us something we don't know, Adrian." Miel snarled, clutching the banana boomerang.

"Please, you gotta believe me! I was framed! I've nothing to do with this, I swear!"

"Who on earth would frame you?" Pam said, tightly holding her baseball bat.

"Me." A booming voice echoed in the library. It was followed by m the feeling of melancholia filling the atmosphere.

The clear blue skies suddenly turned into grey as the looming presence gradually made itself known to everyone inside.

"What the...?" I looked outside and saw a man with his hands held up, glowing red as he had his fingers extended.

The front doors started to shake, especially the glass panes, accompanied by a loud whir.

   "GET BEHIND ME!"

I pulled the three behind me and ignited my blade, watching the red beam of light shoot out of the hilt.

The doors shattered into a pieces, with the shards of glass flying at us like throwing knives. I spun my blade, deflecting most of the glass away except for some smaller debris that grazed my skin.

The man stood shrouded in darkness, his hands glowing red as he slowly walked towards us.

"And I thought you two would be dumb enough to buy it." He growled, finally letting the skylight illuminate his face and his bright red hair.

Miel gasped. "Mark?! You did this?"

   Edd sneered at the man.

Mark had a dastardly grin, a shimmer of red seen in his eyes, "Yes, my sweet Miel." With one swipe of his hands, he flew from the ground and stepped onto the center pedestal.

"You three have proven yourselves to be useful in my grand scheme..." he lifted up his arm and pointed to the boomerang in Miel's arms.

   I hid Miel behind me.

"You've found the last piece to make it happen." The man said in a low growl, "I could feel the power growing!" He let out a loud exhilarated sigh, one hand toying with a small ruby around his neck.

   "The ruby." Pam murmured.

"Ah yes, I suppose you already know what this is?" Mark looked down at his necklace, "If he hadn't found it a year ago I wouldn't have had this much power... oh so delicious power."

"You have to take that thing off!" Miel shouted.

"NEVER!" He shouted, twitching violently, "Besides, I like this body better than that wimpy baker I possessed years ago." He flexed his arms, "Just look at these fucking guns! I'm a fucking sex symbol! One flex of these muscles can make ovaries explode all over the world!"

"Mark, I know you can hear me..." Pam said, taking a step forward.

"MARK'S DEAD!" He swished his hand, sending a shockwave and knocking us off our feet. "The Mark you know is long gone, I've been feeding off of him since the day I had latched onto him. Your attempts to save him will never work."

"Why are you doing this?!" I shouted.

"Oh, Adrian, take a look at you being good and shit. You know why." Mark grinned.
