Draco

The moment Draco heard those three words, those three heart stopping words, he has been been more elated. He has never felt this way before towards anyone, but with Hermione, it’s different. He finds it easy to be the best version of himself around her, especially when she is always thinking of ways to make his life easier, to help him feel as though he fits in.

“Come on,” Draco says suddenly, leading her through the crowd, not even waiting for the concert to end. It doesn't matter because this is for her, he can finally do something do her instead of the other way around.

When she was in the shower this morning, he took it upon himself to use his knowledge of the Muggle contraption called the phone since Hermione had been teaching him. He booked them flights on a plane, wanting this to be perfect ever since he figured out why this spontaneous road trip is happening.

“Where are we going?” he hears Hermione question, confusion lacing her voice for once. It is quite spectacular to have the upper hand instead of being caught under the bus, never knowing where to go next.

“Just follow the coordinates, Granger,” Draco smirks, starting the GPS location he picked before. Their flight leaves soon, giving them time to sleep on the plane. Hermione does as she is told, but he can tell that she doesn’t particularly fancy surprises since she keeps pestering him the whole way there.

“Draco, why are we at the airport?” Hermione questions, looking over at Draco who is still looking at her, anticipating her reaction, trying to see if she will figure this out.

“Well, Granger, we have a plane to catch. Come on, brightest witch of our age, please. Can’t even figure out why we are at an airport,” he jokes, earning a punch on his arm, but he hears her laughter all the same.

As soon as he gets out of the car, Draco walks over to Hermione and holds her hand, pulling her along. They don’t have any luggage to check in since Hermione enlarged how much they can fit in their bags, so it saves them a lot of time. Draco has never been in an airport, but since Hermione doesn’t wish for any magic, he figured he could at least figure out how to do this the Muggle way, for her. He just didn’t want her to have to drive the whole night, give her a way to relax.

They make their way through security before finding the terminal. They wait in line for a few minutes since they almost missed the plane, but they made it on the plane just in the nick of time. Draco lets her take the window seat, seeing how excited she is with a broad smile on her face, obviously loving the mystery of it all even when she wants to know where they are going. However, the flight attendant reveals the destination after going over safety features.

“Paris?” Hermione asks him as they announce the destination and how long it will take to reach it.

    “Yes,” he responds. “Obviously.”

She rolls her eyes but he can see that her smile isn’t going anywhere. “Why?”

“Can’t I just do something for my girlfriend?” he asks, noticing her eyes darting to his quickly at the mention of girlfriend. He assumes that is what they are at this point even if they haven’t discussed exactly to define this love surging between them.

“I love that, hearing that I’m your girlfriend,” she mumbles, blushing for some reason. Draco loves it when the light red covers her face, placing a sheepish smile on her lips as a few strands of hair cover her forehead. Draco reaches over to push them away, moving his fingers under her chin so she looks back up at him.
