Chapter 27
Lucy

2017

We only had a week in April to practice. We would all be back for a week in May then again right before the show in June. But until then it is back to traveling and touring. This time, Luke and Lola travel with JJ, Charlie, Kim, and I.

This is our first headlining tour. Every tour we've been on has been with our family. But this one is special because it's our own. Our tour, Grown Up, has been sold out at every stop. This time we're taking it to the East Coast before hitting South America and Africa. After the BET Awards we'll be in Europe and Asia. We'll be done by August. We shortened what we had originally planned to give us enough time to have a break then get ready for the Family Affair tour starting in November.

"This is great. We can work Luke into the show." JJ says as she taps on her iPad as we sit on the tour bus. Because our moms and aunts didn't come on tour with us, we have taken over a lot of the things they would do for us as our managers.

"My own songs or the songs I sang with y'all?" Luke asks while he eats chips.

Kim looks up from her phone. "Can we talk about anything but touring right now? I'm having a dilemma."

She sighs and pouts dramatically. It's a trait she picked up from Bryshere and his extra dramatic ass.

"Finally realized that you like Algee and want to be with him?" I ask quickly with Lola in my arms.

"No," she rolls her eyes. Liar. "I want to break up with Bry but I don't want it to ruin our friendship. I mean," she sits up and picks up Charlie. "We've been falling back into our friendship relationship recently. I know that's how relationships are supposed to be— you're supposed to be best friends, but the romance is...leaving."

JJ, Luke, and I share quick looks. "Have you spoken to Bryshere about how you feel?" Luke asks, trying to be helpful.

"No. Not yet. I just don't want him to react weird and not want to be my best friend," Kim throws her head back when Charlie tries to grab her face. "Fine! I'll say it: I shouldn't have dated my best friend."

"Not exactly the confession we wanted, but we'll take it," JJ smirks while tapping on her iPad. "But really, talk to Yazz. You'll never know how he feels if you don't talk to him."

After Algee's listening party, Luke has added me and JJ to their group message that the guys use to talk about Algee and Kim. Bryshere was recently added back to the group message because he expressed how he shouldn't have dated Kim knowing how Algee felt. Being the bigger (yet very much shorter man), Algee accepted the apology.

"You're right. I'm going to call him right now." Kim hands Charlie to Luke before walking in the back of the tour bus where the bunks beds are.

"I'm texting Yazz now." JJ whispers as Luke texts the group.

"We're all devious little matchmakers," I smirk at Lola. "Don't worry, baby. We'll do the exact same for you. Except you'll be smarter than your mommy and Auntie Kim. Yeah."

Lola just smiles and laughs. She doesn't understand what I'm saying but she likes when I talk to her.

"No boys until she's at least sixteen. She has a cousin that got a boyfriend at thirteen and her momma had sex when she was fifteen. My baby is waiting until she's sixteen to even look at another boy," Luke says. "Charlie too."

JJ and I look at him like he's stupid. "Boy, if you don't shut yo big head head ass, yo think you big and bad head ass, yo fake Luther Vandross head ass up." JJ snaps as she grabs Charlie from Luke.
