The night of the weekend arrived and it was a Saturday. I glanced over the mirror for the last time before advancing to the rooftop, which the pool was situated.

I had not seen her in a long period of time and we continuously kept our distance from each other, possibly because she had marked my words. Summarily, we were strangers.

Although there were undefined clarifications on what had happened after the night we kissed, I did not waste my time to uncover the truth. It was an issue that had occurred a month ago.

I was too fond in my own world and the sound of the elevator snapped me out of it, indicating I was on the highest floor.

I stepped out of the elevator and proceeded to the outdoor pool. It was quiet and calm as it was unoccupied by anyone. The sequin stars shimmering in the sky were heavenly to gaze at and the atmosphere was the perfect touch up for the night.

I set my towel on the lounger beside the pool and I then removed my shirt before plunging into the pool.

Most of the time, I was floating on top of the water when all of a sudden, I heard a creaking sound produced from the door. Before I dived underwater to ignore the comer, I caught a glimpse of the person and it was a female.

As I could view her feet entering the pool from underwater, it was odd that she progressed toward my way. I was on the verge of squealing when her face appeared underwater, I directly familiarize the features of hers.

My heart pounded rapidly by each movement she took. As the space between both of us went narrower, she faintly smiled before reaching for my cheek to be cupped in her palm.

It was an unexpected moment and everything seemed unbelievable. I held my breath longer, which I barely succeeded as my heartbeat skipped promptly.

I closed my eyes as I buried my face deeper in her palm while my hand mindlessly wrapped around hers. I missed her presence, all I wished was for us to be together.

However, she disappeared from my vision abruptly and I was abandoned with vague explanations.

Realization hit me when I was aware that I forgot to consume my medications. I continued hallucinating and watched as the imaginary of her appeared and disappeared underwater. I was pleading for help, but I knew she could not return my favor.

"Jaewon! Jaewon!"

I was awoken by the loud cries and I sensed the rush of liquid travelled upward in my throat, resulting me to choke them out.

After several coughs were released, I observed my surroundings to see that I was still at the pool. I shifted my gaze to the person who had helped me, of course it was none other than her.

"What happened?" I asked with curiosity.

"You almost drowned, Jaewon," She stated as she exhaled a deep sigh. "I thought I was going to lose you."

My head faced downward as I was slapped with a well built embarrassment. Not long ago, I was hallucinating this female underwater and in a bizarre twist of fate, she was the one who had saved me.

Once more, we fell to our awkward zone, where both of us did not speak at all. I gathered the courage to thank her for multiple times, but it did not work with breaking the ice between both of us.

"Jaewon, I have to go," She informed as she raised from the ground.

I was quick enough to react when her words rang in my ears. In a flash, I caught up with her and instantly hugged her from behind.

"Please, don't go," I whispered in her ears as tears began to form in my eyes.

We stood in our position for some time and later, she turned to look directly at me. Fearful was written on her expression while she had her head down.

"I'm sorry, Jaewon," The words came out of her lips while she unknowingly sobbed underneath her face.

"No, please, don't," I intertwined my fingers with hers.

"I love you."

Without hesitation, she slowly pulled her hands and backed away from me. Again, she said it with a more, painful impact.

"Jaewon, I'm sorry," She apologized and she eventually left.

"No, no, no, no!" I yelled as the tears were no longer held in my eyes.

She left me.
