The summer had come to end and it was time to start school. Usually I wouldn't mind but due to the fact that I had moved and I didn't know anyone here or where any of my classes were I was not up for going to school. Anyway I climbed out of bed and hopped in the shower. When I got out I went and sat on my bed hesitating to get ready. When the knock sounded on my door it brought me back to reality.
"Ashley hunny, are you getting ready for school?"
"Yes mom."
"Just making sure I don't want you to be late on your first day."
"Okay mom."
I grabbed my loose fitting shirt and my black leggings. Put my combat boots on and tied a reddish purple flannel around my waist. Going to the bathroom I grabbed my blow dryer and dried my hair. Brushed my teeth and did my makeup. After getting ready I went downstairs grabbed a banana.
"Love ya guys." I shouted.
"Love you too, have fun and drive safe." My mother and father replied.
As soon as I walked outside Brody was walking across my yard.
"Hey. Im glad to see i'm not the only person that isnt ready for school."
"Uh, yeah. I need to get going I don't want to be late on my first day at a new school."
"Well if you need help I can show you around the school. You can follow me to the school."
"Yeah, sure. Thank you."
"No problem.... sorry I never got your name."
"Oh sorry i'm Ashley."
"Ashley? That's a nice name. Anyway are you ready to go?"
"Thanks and yeah."
I got in the car and followed Brody in his chevelle. We pulled in the parking lot and got out. As soon as we pulled in Brody was surrounded by a group of guys.
"Uh, Brody are you coming?"
"Uh who are you?" one of the guys asked
"Don't worry about her guys she just moved in next door. Anyway it's unimportant. Let's go guys."
"Are you forgetting something?"
"No, I have plans." He said with a smirk on his face.
What a douche-bag I thought to myself. I slung my bag over my shoulder and headed to the entrance of the school.
"Hi,welcome to Horizontal High School. Can I help you?"
"Yeah i'm Ashley Taylor my mom called and the other day. I'm new here."
"Oh yes. Well here you go. They first class it down the hall up the stairs and to the right. It should be the first room on the right."
"Thank you." I said and smiled as I walked away.
Classes flew by and to be honest the school wasn't hard to get around. I made a couple of friends one named Abbi and the other named Danielle.
After school I stopped at Mcdonalds and got a dipped cone, then headed home. When I got home mom and dad asked how school was and if I made any new friends.
"Yeah, just a couple, all in all it was a good day at school. That was after Brody ditched me."
"What do you mean Brody ditched you this morning?" My father asked.
"Well he said that he would show me around school today since it was my first day and all. He showed me how to get to the school, but when we got there he bumped into his friends and just blew me off."
"I'm sorry hunny. I guess he wasn't as nice as we all thought."
Just at that the door bell sounded.
"I'll get it." I said turning towards the door.
I opened the door and shut it.
" Ashley please. Let me explain."
I swang the door open.
"What do you want Brody?"
"I just want to say sorry what I did at school today was totally uncalled for." He said looking down at the ground.
"Whatever."
Without giving any time to say anything I closed the door and went back into the living room. He wasn't goning to treat me like trash in front of his friends and apologize when they weren't around it didn't work like that.
