Chapter 5 Time With Papa

I awoken the next day thank ful that it was the weekend. Walking downstairs I was shocked to see my parents home. Usually they worked on weekends. 

           "Good morning." I said while grabbing a bowl out of the dishwasher and the ceral. 

           "Morning, if you plan on eating ceral then you are going to have to run to the store and get some milk. I used to rest of it with my coffee." My mother replied

          "Ugh, okay." I said 

I went upstairs and hoped in the shower. Getting out I grabbed my black denim shorts and light blue shirt. Ran down the stairs and slipped my sandals on before grabbing my keys and heading for my car. Thankfully Brody wasn't outside. Pulling out my phone I typed in the grocery store and let my gps guide me. I pulled into the whole food market parking lot and killed the engine. Grabbing my purse I headed inside. Not even five seconds later I ran into Brody. Seriously did he just happen to be everywhere?

        "Hey!" He said big smile planted on his face

        "Hi." I replied trying not to be annoyed. 

        "What are you doing here?"

         "Getting milk. You?" 

         "Oh fun. I work here."

          "Coolio." I said as I walked away and grabbed some milk before leaving. 

I walked inside and poured my milk in my bowl. After eating I grabbed my phone and called my papa telling him that I was going to come over. Before getting in the car I yelled at my mom telling her where I was going. The time seemed to speed by as I pulled into papas driveway. 

             "Papa! Im here." I said smiling

             "Lady bug." 

For some reason papa had called me Lady bug ever since I was little. He never even really gave me a reason. I didn't mind. I actually kind of liked it. 

            "So I don't really know of anything to do around here and I figured that we should spend sometime together while we have the time." 

             "Well there is a park around here we can just go and walk.  Try to catch up on some things."

              "Sounds like a plan."

 I grabbed Papas walker and my keys before heading to the car. Papa didn't really say much on the way there. When we pulled in I jumped out an ran to the side he sat on handing him his walker. We walked over the bridge and through the trees. When even sat and fed the ducks. When we were almost done Papa asked if I wanted to go another round. I told him I didn't mind if it wasn't to much for him. On our second lap Papa started to look much more tired. I helped him to the car.

              "Well that was fun. Thanks lady bug." he said with a smile. 

              "Thanks for coming with me. Do you want to go get some ice cream before we head back home?" 

                 "Now that sounds like fun." 

Papa got a plain vaniella while I got a chocolate cookie dough cone. Enjoying our ice cream on the way home I filled Papa in on my first couple days of school. He was glad that I was starting to get situated. I dropped Papa off and headed home. Happy from spending time with him.
