Chapter Nineteen

Keiths POV

I looked at Lance and he urged me forward. I ran at full speed towards the room with the pods.

I burst through the doors and saw Shiro standing there, looking dazed.

"Shiro!"

"Keith..?"

"Shiro! Shiro! Shiroooo!" I chanted as I jumped on him, forcing him in a hug.

We sat there for a few minutes before pulling apart. Coran entered but strangly Lance wasn't with him. It didn't really matter to me though, all that mattered was the Shiro was healthy.

Lances OOV

(Earlier)

I walked up to Coran and placed a hand onto his shoulder,

"Hey Coran..?"

"Yes?"

"When everyone is done saying their hellos to Shiro, would you mind asking him to come to my room later tonight? I want to say something privately..."

"Yeah, of course, my boy."

"..thanks." I said smiling. I walked to my room and plopped down.

(Now)

I want to talk to Shiro but I should wait for the others to recconect with their friend. I don't want to dampen the mood. I'm sure I won't see Keith until tomorrow...

The thought saddenned me even though I knew he would want time alone with Shiro. I knew how close they were from how much Keith talked about him.

I felt a sudden pang of guilt again. I knew Keith lost the one thing he loved because of me and it hurt. Keith was an orphan. He doesn't get close to people, so I can only imagine what it feels like to lose one of the few people you are close to.

I sighed and ended up falling asleep.

Shiros POV

After everyone had said hello to me I followed Keith to his room. We walked in the door and sat on the bed.

"I'm glad you're back.." Keith said, smiling softly.

"I'm glad to be back.."

"I'm not going to make you talk about it, but is there anything that I've missed..?"

"Nothing really happened. The same thing the first time I went, except I'm stronger now. So. Is there anything I missed..?"

"Uhmm... well I mean. Lance and I are friends now?"

I noticed his face turn slightly red at this fact.

"Friends huh?~"

"Yep! F-friends!"

"Well then Mr. Friendly, tell me what you and Lance did while I was gone."

"W-well umm. We usually go into town and just walk around talking. We hang out a lot? I mean I'm his guard but it doesn't feel like it. If you know what I'm talking about?"

"So you're his guard, but if you weren't you'd still be with him?"

"Yeah! And we get along WAAY better then we did when we first met him. And more. I guess."

"More?~"

"U-um yeah. We uh went into town just ealier! We were on a d- !!"

"Mmm?~ A what, Keith? I can't hear you.~"

I headcanon that Shiro teases Keith about his little crush on Lancey Lance 🙄

"A- A- uuh...."
