Chapter 2: Dreams and Visitors
"They're coming." I heard an eerie whisper, what's happening?
"Who's coming?" I asked, the whole room kept spinning, I couldn't see past the mist, all I could hear were the repeated sounds of the whispering echos from every corner of the room.
"It's your destiny." I heard it call again.
"I don't understand, what's going on? Who are you?" I questioned, my words coming out as an echo as I continued turning in every direction which the voices were coming from.
"Time will tell." The fog got closer and suddenly all the mist had disappeared and the white walls once again began closing in.
"No! Wait! Don't leave! Help! You can't leave me here! Help! Help someone!"
"Eve! Wake up! Eve!"
I heard a shuffle, and looked up to see the familiar green eyes; I let out a big gasp and sat up straight gasping for air.
"Have some water." He passed me the cup in his hand, and I gulped it as quickly as possible. "Did you have the dream again?"
"The walls, the whispers, I don't understand, I've heard of having a nightmares, but not one that keeps coming every night." I felt a tear roll down my cheeks. He wiped away the tear, and gave me a warm hug.
"It's alright Eve, it was just a nightmare."
"It's not that." I said wiping my tears away, we both pulled out the hug. "I feel like something's wrong!"
"There's nothing wrong Eve, everythings fine." He assured.
"You don't understand."
"Then tell me, I know there's something you're hiding from me."
"I can't tell you." I said pulling out of the hug.
"We've been best friends for such a long time, what do you mean you can't tell me? Is it bad? Has something happened?" He said beginning to babble.
"No!" I said laughing a little cutting him off."It's probably nothing." I ran my hand over my head letting in a deep breath, I looked back at Jake who was still looking at me with his worried face, I shoved his chest lightly. "Don't worry dummy." I said laughing a little, slipping out of his bed, yeah I ended up sleeping over again, but his mattress is way more comfortable than mine.
"Can you give me a ride home?"
"Yeah alright." I slipped on my jeans from yesterday, changing into one of Jake's shirts, and after buttoning it up, I headed out the door, going down the stairs, suddenly feeling a shiver pass me, like someone walking over my grave. I shook it off and waited at the bottom of the stairs for Jeremy.
"Evelyn Grace Albright." I heard something call. "Today is the day."
What the?
Don't tell me I'm dreaming again.
"You're not dreaming."
Well that answered that.
"Eve, you ready to go?" I shot my face back to Jake, "You okay? You look like you just saw a ghost."
"Yeah I'm okay, let's go." I looked behind me once more as if I was being followed, but only to see an empty corridor.
"Stop being so stupid Eve." I whispered to myself, I walked out the door, and into Jake's car, I sat down in his pick up truck, and buckled myself in, leaning my head back on the seat letting out a sigh,
