Hannah looked up at her house from her driver's seat, hands collapsed around her keys in her lap. Sighing, she emerged from her car and made the walk up her drive way throwing her right hand over her shoulder to make sure her car was locked. She walked up the short, concrete steps to her front door, softly grabbed the door knob with her left hand, unlocked the deadbolt with her right, entered her home, and without saying anything or checking to see if anyone was there, went upstairs. She felt emotionally exhausted, and strongly wished to sleep everything away. Numb and dazed, she ran water for the shower. She walked heavily across the hallway into her room to check her phone. She had a missed call, and a text from Renee.

"Hey, just checking in on you. Btw, did you order the book for history yet?" Hannah laughed lightly, knowing Renee had forgotten. The general education history class was going to be the last class they'd have together. Being in different majors, Hannah and Renee tried to match up as many general education courses as possible knowing once they really dived into their major they wouldn't see much of each other anymore.

"Hey, I just got home from running. I'm about to jump in the shower. I honestly didn't. I completely forgot with everything that's been going on in my mind lol. I'll text you when I'm out." Hannah set her phone back on her nightstand, and went into the bathroom anticipating the relief of the hot shower awaiting her.

Hannah ended up laying in the bottom of her shower longer than she thought she would. When she returned to her bedroom, hair wrapped up in a towel, with a towel tucked tightly around her chest, she saw how much time she'd wasted in the shower. It had been an hour and a half since she texted Renee, which made it nearly midnight. Hannah massaged coconut oil into her skin for moisture, changed into black Nike Pro shorts and an old high school t-shirt, and stretched before finally climbing into bed for the night.

Deep in her covers, Hannah laid on her back with her phone in her hands. She was mindlessly scrolling through Facebook when she saw his name on her news feed. Nicholas Reyes. Hannah stared at his name for a good minute, then looked at what his post said.

"Another long night at work, can't wait to get home to my little Anaelle!" Hannah smiled softly without noticing. His daughter was just slightly over a year old now, and she was the most adorable girl Hannah had seen. Hannah remembered the jealousy she felt when she first learned he had a daughter. She had always hoped in some hopelessly unrealistic way, but always thought when they were together at 16, that she'd have his children. As wild as it seemed – she really thought she'd spend the rest of her life with him; it would be a fairy tale.

Nicholas and Hannah had always been friends on Facebook since they met, though she didn't often see any posts from him. Hannah felt the urge to stalk his Facebook and look at all of his most recent updates, but was saved when a text from Renee appeared at the top of her screen. She opened the message, leaving Facebook behind.

"Did you drown in there?" Renee asked humorously.

Hannah chuckled, "Almost! Lol I just got into bed. I think I'm going to try getting some sleep. Are you free tomorrow? We can order our books." She waited patiently for a reply as she saw Renee beginning to reply immediately.

"Yes! I'll call you tomorrow morning. Love you, goodnight."

Hannah smiled, and shared in Renee's excitement, "See you tomorrow! Love you too." The two best friends hadn't seen each other in almost a week, and going only a couple days was torture.

Hannah went to close out all of her open applications on her phone, and saw Nicholas' Facebook post in the background. She allowed herself to glance at it one more time, then swiped up closing out of Facebook. She put her phone on her nightstand, turned her bedside lamp off, curled onto her right side, and tried to let sleep overcome her.
