I took a deep breath and let it out.

"Okay." I breathed.

I looked in the mirror and cringed. I probably shouldn't have stayed up all night. I had bags under my eyes, my hair was not cooperating with me and overall, it just wasn't my day. My outfit looked okay though, I'll give myself that. I just wore a plain white summer dress with some brown gladiator sandals. I stayed up all night stressing on what to wear, my makeup, my hair (I just put it in a braid like a usually do), my everything. I don't even know why I'm stressing over this.

Unless...

No. Just no. I can't, I wont, and I don't want to. And I can't.

My side conscience was yelling at me and saying that all those statements were completely false. I pushed those thoughts out of my mind.

I thought about how I could survive this night. It was just dinner. All I have to do is say hi, have some small talk, smile-

"Darcy! Are you ready? They said they're on their way! Let's go!" I heard my mom call out.

"Coming!" I pushed the thoughts aside and scolded myself for even worrying in the first place. Why was I even worrying in the first place? It's just a dinner. With friends and family, like before.

Unless...

No. No. No. I can't. I won't. And I don't want to.

Yeah right.

No, he's just a friend.

I pushed my thoughts aside, grabbed my purse and hurried out of my room before my mom would yell at me again.

Hello hello! Sorry this chapter is soooooo short, this is my first story and I'm just trying it out since I haven't been doing much this Summer :) A shoutout to laureeeenne and angel_shotgun for encouraging me to write this. Hehe :* Love y'all!
