Chapter One

I sat sleepily in 1st hour waiting for the final bell to ring. We had ten minutes before the final bell rang as soon as you the clock struck 7:00 a.m. but I never found it necessary to spend all of my time roaming the school. I had enough fun going to school in the first place. If fun is what you want to call it. My name is Kyla and its senior year of high school. I sit quietly to myself as the rest of the students file into the room and take their seats. Now I know what oyur probably thinking. "Who is this chick and why is she so boring?" Honestly, i dont blame you. You cant blame me either. Its my first day at my new school.

I used to live in Sicamore County on the east side of California. Now i live in Lowinski Twp. on the west side of Michigan. How much different-er can you get? All thanks to my Dad's job, I have no say in the matter and I have to support him on everything. My mom left when i was a baby, she just picked up her bags and left. My dad stayed strong until i began growing up, when i became a freshman and started high school, he lost himself a little bit. He spent half his pay check on alcohol and the other half to try and support us. I had no other choice but to carry myself.

Now that we've moved hes promised to keep himself together. We moved in the summer, which made my summer perfect. Ya just kidding. I was alone as all my friends back home swam in the Pacific Ocean. The final bell rang shaking me out of my deep zone out session. The teacher who seemed to be about 35, tall, blond, and a little round, was a bit to peppy for my morning. She began the morning with "Good Morning super seniors are you ready to explore the wonderful world of math?!" What are we 5? I didn't think staying in regular math would be so pathetic..I was very wrong. Just as she began to rant about summer another distraction caught my attention. A tall, muscular, tan, brown haired boy strolled into the classroom.

It was as if the Red Sea would part for him. He stepped in to the classroom, and i am not over exaggerating when I say that all heads turned. The teacher, she even seemed to be in a daze. Well sure the kid was hansom and had Calvin Klein modeling in his future if he wasn't a model already, but lets be honest, I'm sure he had Douche Bag tattooed right on his tool. What a tool. I couldn't stand guys like him, thinking they owned the place. There was an open desk next to me as i prayed someone would give up their seat in the back. No such luck. He slid right into the seat next to me with a cocky yet gentle smirk on his lips. He turned to me as i tried to focus on the teacher who had probably downed 12 coffees in 12 minutes.

"I'm Malcom, you're new around here aren't you?" "What's it to you?" was my 'witty' response. "Well, i would've noticed someone so beautiful before, and I would like to know the name of the girl I was hoping to go on a date with tonight." I turned looking at his smirk and honestly wanted to slap it off his face. Don't get me wrong i didn't know the guy so i didn't deserve to judge him but I knew his type so that makes up for it.

I had to think of something and fast.

So I told the biggest possible lie i could think of..

"My name is Kyla, and i have a boyfriend."
